Teek drama is so last year. Is Fangbreaker that dead? Does nothing happen there?
My sample pool is small, not playing there myself, but it seems to be a combo of a kind of chill niche pop akin to what rizlona got on top of being DOA and never attracting the chucklefucks that the typical best tlp of the tlp cycles usually get.

Sounds like THJ just won the court case.

thoughts?
THJ's equitable arguments are strong — Daybreak's own executives publicly encouraged emulators for decades, calling them "number one fans." Courts are reluctant to grant injunctions that would effectively reverse 20+ years of established industry practice.

The injunction request is likely to fail. If it does, a settlement is most likely.
It would likely include:
- THJ agreeing to operate under formal licensing terms
- Restrictions on the donation/monetization system
- Daybreak getting face-saving language about IP protection
- THJ continuing to operate as a "licensed" emulator

The issue I see is that the THJ dev's wont cow like Quarm. I'm not sure where the middle ground is on licensing terms or if there is one. Even if THJ wins the settlement, they may still shut down due to restrictions.

The off chances are that the injunction succeeds or it goes to trial, but those seem very unlikely.

Yeah, DBG's lawyer didn't seem to understand Equitable Estoppel, his response reinforces the case THJ was making. Saying "Look at these hidden agreements we had that contradict our public statements." Is the whole point of Equitable Estoppel.

P99 and Quarm don't have licenses they just have agreements that the won't be sued if they follow some rules. Secrets agreement was so much more cucked than Rogean, just goes to show the more you let them push you around they more they're gonna take.

Thats a good ass lawyer THJ has. This estoppel argument is solid and genius. Didnt even know there was such a thing. But it makes sense. You cannot just choose to disregard and even actively encourage shit for years, but then all of a sudden do a 180 on something you dont like. Basically Daybreak have been fucking themselves for years and not even realizing about how they were fucking the companys assets.
