now that THJ is gone those players haven't gone back to Live/TLPs because they have no interest in Live/TLPs

I'd love to see those server pop numbers. But even more so, I hope the THJ guys are demanding to see those numbers in court. If DBG can't point to a spike in players after THJ shut down, doesn't that kill their lawsuit (or part of it at least)? If DBG can't show a spike in revenue their whole "it's THJ's fault" argument goes right out the window, right?
I bet EG7 might like to see those numbers as well.

not really and not really related. failure to recoop the players after suing THJ they can easily argue is backlash from their customers for the lawsuit.

THJ would want to see the numbers from before and during, and then they could argue that they had no impact on DBGs financials. ie THJ had built up 20k players between October 2024 and April 2025, if EQ didn't lose that many players (or more, due to the nature of multiboxing every 1 player is like 5 accounts minimum) so if EQ can't show a drop off of subs prior to Fangbreaker then the shit launch of Fangbreaker would bear the responsibility for their failings and not THJ. Sure maybe a few people that would have participated in the annual TLP opted to skip it but we're talking like 10% of the THJ player base.

But really its not too helpful. The arguments for an emergency injunction and the merits of the IP infringement case itself do not really overlap all that much.

I'm no lawyer but i would think there best bet would be to prove that DBG committed perjury in their arguments for the emergency injunction, ie that they lied to the court. Again not that would have much bearing on the IP infringement but it would piss off the judge and he might bitch slap them on principle.

I wonder how many millions / year p1999 is generating.

No way they'd deal with their customer base for anything under a few 100k / month.

5 mil / year seems like a conservative estimate, knowing the massive amount of RMT they condone (5k / month / customer or more, from personal dealings).

not even sure I understand what you are claiming. Are you saying P99 has 5k players and they combined spend 5 million dollars a year on P99, spending over 83 dollars each per month?

Or are you saying that 83 people are paying 5k dollars a month each for 5mil per year?

that you were wrong? That you mispoke? That you were arguing for what reason you think XYZ happened when the discussion was just a fucking

and you didn't read it?

it's ok, you're retarded, I forgive you.
The literal sentence before what you quoted. Read it again. Maybe a few times.
But in reality the reason is simply THJ was popular at a time DBG was failing. Rather than admit to the suits at EG7 that profits were down because of lackluster expansions, failed TLPs, disappearing Krono scandal, Tower gear on Teek, rampant cheating, inconsistent rules enforcement ect. DBG looked for a scapegoat and found one in THJ and now that THJ is gone those players haven't gone back to Live/TLPs because they have no interest in Live/TLPs
You basically have it here. They were looking for a scapegoat. They couldn't just say "our ideas suck and we are too stubborn to try again until exactly 1 year later" even if they all knew its the truth. They needed to shift blame. If THJ is fully free to play, they don't work as well for blameshifting. Since they appear to run a gig basically like krono, they can be accused of stealing customers who would have bought krono. Their monetization makes them competition for paying customers, not just a sponge for the usual p99 type who want free. That's the claim at least. No visible evidence of profiteering = no way to make that claim. That's the whole argument.
