I think there was a moment that a lot of folks said that... We are really not sure whey they did not or at least attempted to create something out of the box but then I think most remembered who they were dealing with. I hope this works out for their team.

The more I have thought about a new project carrying on this concept it very well could work out better for them. They were really shackled to the EQ content and the popularity of each expansion. We all know how people feel about post-PoP. Its pretty spotty... I heard some folks were going to sit out some expansions, looking forward to some, and were beginning to have opinions to how they should approach encounters, zones, etc. I personally thought expansions like House of Thule were going to be pretty solid and was looking forward some that I had missed but there was also some I could have cared less. Now, they can cherry pick the best pieces of lore, experiences, or completely create something new. Its going to be a risk but what game isn't? I think they have a pretty fair chance of something fun for the first 3-6 months but have a hard time seeing its sustainability. I hope I'm surprised.

Reality THJ is paying and undisclosed amount that doesn't pierce the corporate veil so it's less than what they took in minus their own lawyer costs minus operating cost ect. Definitely less than what DBJ payed to sue them.

THJ likely would've shut down with a simple C&D and THJ had also tried to contact DBG to work out a deal with them.

I think there will be quite a bit of the THJ community that will play just out of spite. Now, does it last more than a month.. maybe not but it may be enough to make them a little money. I think there's enough spite and curiosity to make it worth their while... just not long term.

Sieger stated what the legal code is and what the hypothetical potential could be. That's not predicting it will happen or in that full amount. Other people made claims that were often borderline serious, or expressions, etc. Nobody said 8 mil.

Stop being so fucking autistic. Your mental illness is frustrating and annoying to everyone else. There are levels between 0 and 10 that other people (not you) are able to dial things to that allow a reasoned discussion, like THJ will lose the lawsuit and be subjected to an unfavorable outcome completely in DBJ favor doesn't have to mean EVERY potential negative thing happens.

This sentence absolutely does NOT say that they're actually going to get that amount. It literally has the caveat at the end where the trial judge has to agree. Maybe if Alex Jones was a THJ dev, sure, but since he's not, most of us were perfectly aware that a full penalty wasnt reasonable.

It shits up discussions when someone posts things like "here's the legal limits and stipulations" and you go and do the ol OH SO YOU'RE SAYING at it.
