All these suckers who were asking "where is the new THJ DBG" and suddenly now that its going to come are "Nah ill pass". Please, at least half these idiots will try it, dont kid yourselves. Someone mentioned elsewhere, this had to be in the works for a while already, but had to wait for the litigation to be done. Considering its going to be in beta in a month and release only a few months after that.

Really depends how they do it. I never got to try THJ, so I wouldn't mind trying this to see. I am currently playing a TLP, so I am hoping I can just try this without having to pay anything extra. But alas, as been mentioned, not much of a money grab if they don't double dip.

Legitimately hilarious they seemingly aren't even changing anything. Its going to be super popular too.

I'm not saying its moral per se, but it IS a intellectual property and if you decide to use it, build on it, and sell that product, this result shouldn't surprise you.

In typical DBG fashion, I expect that this will be an absolutely retarded ruleset. Something like 6 month expansion unlocks, game perma stops in Velious.

However, if this actually has plans of continuing beyond PoP...

Seriously, this is the most hilarious outcome ever.

DBG/DPG sucked so bad at managing the EverQuest IP that the higher ups allowed another company not related to them to make a NEW game based on the IP and NOT connect it to their existing business model.

Think about that for a second. The company that is supposed to be in charge of the Everquest IP (DPG) is not involved in this game at all. They are so removed from this "new" game that their business model is not even part of it (aka All Access and Krono).

Just my personal opinion, but it feels to me like someone above Daybreak Games has completely lost confidence in Darkpaw Games.

That all being said, there is no doubt that whom ever is involved in EverQuest Legends follows these forums. Who ever you are, reach out to me. I'll stream your game and hype the fuck out of it just because of how much I hate what Jchan and company did to EQ.

Another L for Daybreak, making it using the people that failed at doing it when they tried. Secrets already had a "Classless" server and nobody play it cause it sucked ass.

Secrets is competent. Given oversight and a steady hand to keep him from losing his mind then, honestly yea... they could probably make some good stuff. Not sure who else is involved but if he cherry picked a number of good devs from EQ Emu they could be quite capable if managed properly.

EDIT: By managed properly I mean mostly left alone, but restrained from doing insane things like renaming Gypsies or adding 15 genders to orcs.
