Yeah. The reincarnation system is the core fundamental that keeps a huge swath of the playerbase around. Is there still essentially infinite progression by eating your maxed out characters?
How does The reincarnation system work? Our little group played it for a handful of years on and off, and I'm talking pretty early. I've played DDO off and on since it was released, but have never reincarnated myself. Doing so would be significant increases in power for my character, but running R10 dungeons with characters that have 30+ past-lives and outperforming them with my First-Life character has become a point of pride.
However, with all the upcoming changes I'm probably going to have to get over petty pride and take advantage of all the power I am leaving on the table.

It's definitely a game I thought about getting back into with the boys, but I would probably be pretty lost and I don't know if I even remember my damned account information.
I did love playing my monk though, and I could just run through a dungeon and evade all traps and then one of my buddies playing something like a sorcerer would get nuked, and start yelling at me. Such fun times.

Jesus I'm going to have to look at that on my computer because I'm trying to read it on my phone and even with my peepers, I can't see anything.Reincarnation - DDO wiki

Yeah. It's a lot of info. And it is a hell of a lot of character power.Jesus I'm going to have to look at that on my computer because I'm trying to read it on my phone and even with my peepers, I can't see anything.

I guess I probably have I just can't think of one off the top of my head.I find it hard to believe you've never played a game with prestiging before, it's the same thing except in DDO your character gets more powerful for doing it, it's not just bragging rights.
