9800X3D vs 9900/9950 X/X3D
I'm not a big fan of the 12 core models. I prefer to go with the 8 core (single CCD) X3D chip for gaming. This eliminates any core parking/scheduling issues where the game may end up running on the non-X3D part of the CPU. I know AMD and MS have gotten better at making sure that doesn't happen, so perhaps it is not as big an issue was it previously was.
Or go with the full 16 core model if you need the threads. 9950X3D can still have the scheduling issues (as can all 12 and 16 dual-CCD models) though.
