I'm on 26.9.1 , staying on latest as they added FMR 4 for the 7000 series cards. I'll put below what I was doing to diagnose.
Issue i was having was the right monitor would go black at random times for no reason at all.
This is my notes from trying to figure out wtf myself. I put it on a windows sticky and update it when / if it doesn't work (which is why one is marked didn't work)
Common Causes and Solutions
Disable Multi-Plane Overlay (MPO): This is a frequent culprit for black screens in browsers like Chrome or when watching YouTube. Disabling MPO via registry edits or using tools like MPO Disable often resolves these specific video playback crashes without affecting gaming performance. Update or Roll Back Drivers: Recent AMD Adrenalin drivers (such as 25.5.1) have been reported to cause instability. Users found success by performing a clean driver install using DDU and reverting to older, stable versions like 24.5.1 or 25.3.1. Installing the "drivers only" version without the Adrenalin software suite can also eliminate overlay conflicts.
Check DisplayPort Cable and Settings: The RX 7900 XTX outputs high-bandwidth signals (DP 2.1) that can overwhelm older monitors (DP 1.2/1.4) or poor-quality cables. Ensure you are using a VESA-certified DisplayPort 1.4 or 2.1 cable. Additionally, disable FreeSync, Enhanced Sync, and Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling (HAGS) in Windows or AMD settings to test for stability. DID HAGS 8/10/26
Adjust TdrDelay: If the issue involves a driver timeout (black screen followed by a crash or restart), increasing the TdrDelay registry key from the default 2 seconds to 10 or 60 seconds can prevent Windows from forcibly resetting the GPU while decoding high-demand video streams.

I already knew my cables were ok , in fact changing the right monitor to HDMI from DP removed my issues on that monitor entirely. I didn't mess with the delay as that usually is a can o worms so I dug further and this is where I am now. It's stopped everything as of the end of last month.
Sadly, not sure this is exactly a Windows or AMD issue, this shit is just so damn complex things break. AMD moved on so they could give 2 fucks about fixing last gen card, hell I'm plesantly surprised they got around to adding FMR 4.
