I hope so. I'd rather spend another hundred on fittings then a huge increase in price. The price might have had that Euro Vat shit added to it since that is where the leak came from.

Finally got my new R5 1600 build put together, and I'm getting a 3.7 Ghz OC at stock voltages with the stock cooler with temps at 62.5 C over a 2 hour ADIA64 stress.

Pretty happy with the set up right now, only problem I am having is getting my RAM to work right since I was stupid and misread the QVL list and bought incompatible RAM.

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 5 1600 3.2GHz 6-Core Processor ($196.88 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: ASRock - AB350M Pro4 Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard ($74.49 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 Memory ($151.97 @ Amazon)
Video Card: Zotac - GeForce GTX 1070 8GB AMP! Edition Video Card
Case: Thermaltake - Core V21 MicroATX Mini Tower Case ($59.93 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: EVGA - SuperNOVA G3 550W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($79.89 @ OutletPC)

Are you stuck at 2400mhz on the Ram? You could try bumping the SOC voltage to 1.1v and then try the XMP settings for your ram. The SOC voltage is the secret sauce to getting "over clocked" ram up to speed.

Thanks, I'll check that out. I've never messed with that setting before. Will it affect my CPU overclock? I'm really looking to get a nice, mild overclock on stock cooler and run this thing as a daily driver for several years, so I'm not looking to push it really far.

As for RAM speed, my mobo clocks it at 2133 to start. It won't load the 2933 XMP profile at 1.35v. I tried 2800 at 1.3v which booted and ran fine, but the next time the power cycled it decided it was an issue and reset to 2133. Haven't power cycled yet at 2666 but things are going quite smoothly right now so if this is as far as I get, that is fine with me. I assume a future AMD bios fix will allow for more QVL RAM.

Haven't upgraded my computer in a while. My mobo and cpu are almost 7 years old. Not sure how they lasted that long. Anyway, been out of the game for a while, what's a good general purpose review site? I'm kinda looking for what Anandtech does for phones quarterly, recommending what to buy based on what type of phone and how much you want to spend. I'm going for more value oriented, I've obviously pushed some parts well beyond their expected life time, I don't want to spend a ton.

Tom’s Hardware: For The Hardcore PC Enthusiast is pretty good for rankings of different parts. I would also use Pick parts. Build your PC. Compare and share. - PCPartPicker and use the sorting options by price.

They're fine, bottlenecked but not in a way that's super meaningful. I wouldn't throw away a perfectly good working high capacity SATA SSD, they make an excellent 'Steam Drive' although I've sold off all my 256gb or less ones.

I'm on an old 128GB SSD, so no reason not to get a pcie version, right? NVM.e is interchangeable with pcie?

For someone that doesn't seem too terribly upset over his 7 year old system, I wouldn't waste the money on NvMe drives, when sata will be plenty fast for you, imo.

Hadn't noticed a huge price differential yet, but I hadn't looked at that component much either. Gonna look tonight. And by tonight, I mean this weekend. And by this weekend, I mean until my computer dies. PoE's just a bit stilted, nothing major!

If you can list what parts you want to buy new and what you want to keep with how much you want to spend I can put a build together for you.

I should probably give it a try myself, but I do appreciate the help. I'm thinking everything but these two components should be replaced:

CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Power Supply - Newegg.com Corsair 650W PSU
COOLER MASTER HAF X RC-942-KKN1 Black Steel/ Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Newegg.com HAF 922 case, I was really surprised it has USB 3.0. But I also wouldn't be surprised if it needs an upgrade or would benefit in some major way from one.
I also have a 1TB non-system drive that still holds porn just fine, so I don't see a reason to upgrade that. The peripherals of monitor, keyboard, and mouse are all relatively recent and I'm happy with them.

Otherwise: motherboard, cpu and cooler, gpu, memory, and ssd. I'd like it to keep under $1k and I usually try to aim for that sweet spot of value/$, I don't really care for pushing graphical settings as long as the game is playable.
