As shown before, I have the older version of that monitor. I work from home a few days out of the week on it and then use 2 27"s when I go into work and there has never been a time where I thought "i wish i was doing this on my home monitor." Or even really notice the difference.

On the flip side of that, when I go to lan parties and use my 32" I immediately ask myself what this garbage is because it doesnt give nearly the same satisfaction. Obviously a 32" doesnt equal 2 27s side by side, but I feel even with that setup you wont get the same immersiveness as a single screen.

Any experience with normal ultrawides? I'm wondering if the extra immersiveness is more about it not being 16:9 for you.

I'm genuinely curious, and not trying to crap on people that like the format. It just seems really silly to me.

We have the 49 inch ultra ultra wide screen Dell at work. You want to talk about retarded....
Yeah but this is like that display, same resolution, but HDR and 120 hz.

It looks like a fucking crazy ass arcade display when gaming.

Yeah, I'm not really suggesting that they're the same. The aspect ratios are a huge difference. Just saying that a huge ultrawide display can be fun. In the case of the 32:9 though I doubt I'd like it because it's just too large a ratio.

Are there any good 4k HDR10 monitors yet? I really need to buy a new monitor (maybe 2) to replace the one that is starting to shit the bed. I hate monitor shopping. I've been doing this like every 2 months and never pull the trigger because it's information overload that makes no sense to me. I've got a 1080 ti as my video card.

Depending on games you play, you will have a hard time pushing 4K with 1080ti and get solid frames. I would still opt for ther 1440p and go with some shit like 144mhz.

I game at 4k with a 1080ti. Usually between 45-55 FPS on Battlefield and The Division 2. With dips in the 30's. Solid 60 in games like LOL and Diablo.

1440p is the way to go like you say.

Alright so 1440p, 144hz, 1ms response time (is this overkill or good?), and then as far as HDR goes. HDR 400 is basically crap right? Want it to be at least HDR 600?

400 is a joke and might as well not be capable of hdr at all. Look at the tftcentral.co.uk article on it for why

1ms response means TN panel
