For Win10 on my new build, all I had to do was create Microsoft account on my old PC, put my login on my new one, and it activated fine.

Ohh Intel, how the mighty have fallen. Shame they have billions and billions to ride this out with.

Did they really replace the 10c chip with a 8c chip in the 11k series?
i9 went down to 8 cores and a 10% price increase.

I would not fux with anything less than 16gb these days. Making sure my new rig has 32gb to be safe. Shit, web brousers with a ton of open tabs can take a shit ton by itself.

So my local Microcenter has this one in, 18 left...

Thinking about jumping on it tomorrow morning. Its not the one with the AMD 5900x but times are rough out here. The Core i7 11700KF seems pretty solid for a 14nm intell POS. Can always do a swap a year or two down the road when the new ryzens hit next year and GDDR 5 ram becomes std.

This is an idiotic question but... I have a 970 pro M.2 drive that I used in an old system as my OS & storage etc. It still has all that on the drive. Can I plug that into my new system MOBO and just erase all of that or will there be some type of conflict there? I guess as long as my new M.2 with the new OS is the boot priority I should be good? Don't want to just give up 1tb of M.2 storage but don't want to feck anything up either.

I've done exactly that in the past. Zero issues.

you mean you want to put your old 970 with os on your second m2 slot in your current system? no problem, just like you said, boot priority is the key.

The 3080 system is a great deal, shame about that ugly ass case

According to the thread and people who inquired it supposedly had the 3080 strix inside. However it came out to 2144 or so after tax which is pretty much the price of the card itself out in the streets.

Considering the state of the market, does anyone think these prices will settle within 2021? I used to think it would but atm im pretty sure outside of prebuilts that the GPU nonsense will last well into 2022.

Yeah the micro center Power Specs are much nicer than that. And they keep getting them in , 25 a store so keep looking, that is if you have a micro center thats near. At least they keep the stock current on their web site. The site said my store had 18 units and sure enough thats what they had. The sales dude said they get small batches and they are usually gone within a week.

Here is the one I picked up mon.
