I'm honestly about to break down and just buy that ROG prebuilt from Best Buy. I can actually pick it up on Saturday locally, it's $400 less than this Cyberpower build and has a 3080 instead of a 3060.

Edit: Lol sold out in the time it took me to type this message, guess I keep waiting

looks good, does cyberpower still have a 3week turn around?

maybe call em up and ask how much 2x16 gb's will cost, imo i would feel WAY more comfortable with 32gbs, now...

I'd just planned on buying two more 8GB sticks if I had any problems.

Yeah the micro center Power Specs are much nicer than that. And they keep getting them in , 25 a store so keep looking, that is if you have a micro center thats near. At least they keep the stock current on their web site. The site said my store had 18 units and sure enough thats what they had. The sales dude said they get small batches and they are usually gone within a week.

Here is the one I picked up mon.

Um no, the power spec is identical almost but +400? your power spec cost as much as the asus with a 3080 in it - i dont consider it being "nicer" by no means.

Here is a cyberpower in stock w/ 3070 and same specs for cheaper than the microcenter PC

I actually have a 3080 power spec waiting but i picked up 2 3080 from BB earlier so not sure i want to grab a PC thats 500 more after tax

I sold a similar one with a 2080Ti and same case for like 4000 so this isnt a bad price but for a 3060? i wouldnt touch it for 2400

Pretty sure this is cheaper, better and ship quicker

Can replace ram for cheaper than your system setup - and does that motherboard support PCIE Gen4?

I still cant seem to see the justification for the price difference - 3070 vs 3060 alrdy kills off any reason to get one over the other aside from SSD speed differences.

Literally only thing that matters in these prebuilts is the graphics card. Anything else you can get on your own. Why would you even spend money on a 3060?

Pretty much this, all the /other/ stuff is cool in all but in the end you have a 3060 NON Ti - I never even bothered to see how it performs but i know its not a 3070 or 2080Ti - if i were you id snag up the cyberpower prebuilt with 3070 thats 700 cheaper than that you linked - spend the extra dough tweaking it or put it in a better case or something and still have enough left over for hookers and blow.

Well thats now gone but microcenter still had PCs in stock in various locations

Not to mention at the price you had you could get a prebuilt 3080 10900k machine from microcenter

3080 variant

It was the only card that didn't have a 6 week delay.

I figured all the new gen cards were good. I didn't realize the 3060 was a pos. What card should I get?

I was looking for a 3080 myself but could only get my hands on a 3070.

Honestly depends what monitor you're using but I wouldn't settle for less than a 3060ti. You have a good amount of money though so I'd be looking for at least a 3080.

(also he posted shit thats sold out because shit sells out quickly, those systems were available to buy today)

I'd rather pay scalp prices for a good card than buy an entire system to get something like a 3060.

So, I guess the two things I've gotten feedback on are I need 32 GB RAM and better than a 3060ti?

I guess AMD versus Intel doesn't matter?

if you want the latest, w/o being pseudo latest

aim for 3070 at the min.

most everyone that diy are going amd cuz theyre the best performance, price, everything atm

team blue is playing catchup, however if youre buying pre-built, you pretty much just have to go w/ whatever cpu the system builder decides to use.

Everything in context. 16GB RAM minimum, but 32GB can be useful now and in the future for many use cases. Ryzen 5000 > Intel 10XXX & 11XXX, but for gaming and general desktop use it doesn't matter which you get since they all perform fairly close (+/- 10% for a given MSRP). For heavy CPU usage (as in, you make more money or save lots of time by having more cores), look at Ryzen 5900x & 5950x (or even 3900x and 3950x) for the cores. For GPUs, if you are at 5700XT or 2060 Super currently, than 6800/3070 are probably the minimum you should upgrade to. 3060 and 3060TI at MSRP might be okay choices if you are coming from a (much) slower card, but it's a bit hard to pay current prices for the same performance you could have bought last year for around $350-$450 dollars. At least 3070/6800 and greater get you better performance than you could previously buy outside of something like a 2080TI, even if with inflated prices.

Nicer looking I meant, lol. Of course a 3080 system will be better than a 3070 one. But still I got a $200 MSI mo-bo, Lian-Li case, gskill 32gb 3200 CL16 ram, cooler master 240mm AIO, Thermaltake fully modular gold PSU. SO yeah, not sure whats in those Best buy sytems for $1800, but I can probabaly guarantee they are some generic crap. Ive priced some ibuypowers before, and thed above no where near comes to $1700, more like $2200-$2500 unless you want thieir generic no name shit.

I mean I guess, buy the generic pc if you just want the card, but I bought a system to use and built like I would have built it ( I would have went AMD but whatevs). And it pretty much had everything I was looking for except more HD space which I fixed with $150 and 20 min. I would have built this myself but video card is pretty much unavailable.

It sells out quickly. If you happen to be on when he posts it you get a chance at one. His posts are how I got my 3070. Pretty sure he’s helped a lot of other get their cards, unifans, ps5s, etc.

I agree on looks - thats why i mentioned with the money saved you could get an o11 case - That aside my inner scalper had me buy a couple of the 3080 rigs off BB this morning - Id have bought them all if it didnt seem like regional limitations were put in place. I'll see how the insides are but some say potential blower ASUS GPU while others say it has a ASUS Strix - in any situation i plan to try to trade the gpu away for a while strix or just sell it off entirely.
