Ya hard to just throw something out without a budget, but I'd say a 650 Ti Boost maybe considering you had a 460 to begin with.

Budget is ~ 200 and under
specs:
INTEL i7-960 3.20GHZ 8M
KINSTON HYPER X DDR3/1600MHz 2 GB MEMORY
Win7 64bit

That should cover it

$200 is gonna be a GTX 760 or a Radeon 270, maybe a 270X if you up your budget by $30 ~ $50.

Think you got your prices reversed.

760 will run you 225-250, you can get a 270x under 200.

But he's right, get the 760

Yeah AMD cards are a crapshoot atm. The GTX 760 outperforms the 270x anyways, so as long as the Radeon prices are all messed up the 760 is a solid choice.

Brand hardly matters. Nvidia normally makes the boards the retailers just do the coolers and the warranties. My GTX 580 was a Zotac and I had it for a year and the guy I sold it to is still using it.

Zotac's have a two year warranty with an option to extend it to three years.

from the digging i did when buying my monitor, since i FPS alot and i dont like to have any disadvantages, anything under 5ms is fine for fps, 2ms is ideal and often used by the pros at tournaments.

over 5 i guess you start to see issues with ghosting in fps.

Hey guys,

I'll be building my first comp since '04 (college) and wanted a bit of feedback from you guys.

I've been using laptops since graduating and I'm tired of playing game as the lowest settings. However, I'm not going for max settings w this build.

My budget:
$500 - $600

My needs:
I need the works. All the way from case to RAM.

I've been following the thread and assume that my base price should be the CPU, spend half on the mobo and twice on the GPU.

I'm going to try to find deals to cut my costs even more.

Thanks!

The works, as in monitor, keyboard and mouse, too?
