Don't forget the new chips are 140-160W tdp and the 6700k is 91WBut that's a 4 core chip. Can they get their 8 core that high on all cores and have room to boost too? I'd be skeptical.

1070?I got a temporary video card when my Nvida 750 took a shit on me last week. I got a Radeon R5 230...just to be able to get decent graphics on screen and it was pretty cheap...Any recommendations as far as getting something comparable or better to what I had previously in the $300 price range?
If they come up with something that performs better in games than the 7740K I'll be surprised.
if this way OLED it would be an endgame monitor for me. but alas, I will wait.New G-SYNC HDR Monitors Announced At Computex 2017 | GeForce

its IPS but the negatives of IPS should be offset by 512 zone backlighting, allowing for better color muting.
Obviously OLED/QLED would be the ultimate, and the price on this thing is likely going to be $3k+ for 35" but hopefully it will be sub $1k in 2 years.
At that price point the RX480 is better card.Coming from a 750 even a 1060 would blow you the fuck away, not sure you need to spend the money for a 1070.
A 1060 will do 1080p pegged at 60hz in almost every game.
