Well, what's the die size on these? Last shots I saw of the socket were pretty fucking huge.

Also, no onboard GPU on these, and probably no integrated memory controller either.

Don't forget the new chips are 140-160W tdp and the 6700k is 91W

It's not a linear relationship of TDP and frequency potential per core, at least not with Intel's processor families. The more cores they shove on a chip, the lower the all-core frequency potential is at a given voltage/wattage per core. And upping the voltage/wattage has massively diminishing returns depending on the process. It's not just a question of throwing 20W per core and getting the exact same results. If it was, the 6-10 core Broadwell/Haswell E's would all have the same OC potential as the 4790k, but their ceiling was anywhere from 10-20% lower than the the i7 part ceiling was.

PSA on a couple headset deals:

Logitech G633 is on sale for $70.

Here is a review for the G633's: Logitech G633 Artemis Spectrum Gaming Headset Review | PC Gamer

Steel Series Siberia 800 is on sale for $235

I have to use a wireless headset at my home office and can give these a thumbs up. Some of the pros of them are they pretty good (FOR A "GAMING" HEADSET*) and although they are obviously battery powered, it comes with two batteries so you basically never run out of juice. The range on them is fantastic and I've yet to have issues that would cause me to not recommend them. Definitely a great headset, albeit a bit pricey.

I got a temporary video card when my Nvida 750 took a shit on me last week. I got a Radeon R5 230...just to be able to get decent graphics on screen and it was pretty cheap...Any recommendations as far as getting something comparable or better to what I had previously in the $300 price range?

The new video card said it was 1gb more than the old one but runs much slower than the Nvidia. Just trying to make sure I buy the right thing if I spend that much money.

Coming from a 750 even a 1060 would blow you the fuck away, not sure you need to spend the money for a 1070.

A 1060 will do 1080p pegged at 60hz in almost every game.

New G-SYNC HDR Monitors Announced At Computex 2017 | GeForce

35" curved
3440 x 1440 (21:9 4k)
200 Hz gSync display
HDR
512 zone backlight
HDR with 1000 nits max brightness and DCI-P3 color gamut

its IPS but the negatives of IPS should be offset by 512 zone backlighting, allowing for better color muting.

Obviously OLED/QLED would be the ultimate, and the price on this thing is likely going to be $3k+ for 35" but hopefully it will be sub $1k in 2 years.
