asus had this at computex

I know. The 4070 was the first card they did together, but the price premium was so high you could buy a standard 4080 instead, undervolt and underclock, and get more performance while still being quieter. The concept was cool, but the Noctua/ASUS ROG pairing made it price prohibitive. Just give me a clean way to mount 120mm fans (preferably of variable thickness like 15mm, 25mm, and thicker) that use GPU-provided 4-pin headers. No zip ties, no 3rd party software to control fan curves. But I'm talking about AIBs that set the dual-bios Performance/Quiet modes to something like a +/-50MHz and 100rpm difference - iow, nearly imperceptable.

Those Omen cases have a bit of a heat dissipation issue, and are a little bit tight to work inside - what kind of gpu/cpu are you planning on using. If throwing in something crazy 5080+ I'd avoid but should be fine for a lower mid range card.

If there's a heat issue, I won't worry about it.

I'm thinking 9600x ($179) w/ a 5060 ti 16 GB ($385 for open box). Nothing crazy, just looking to play Helldivers II on 1440p high settings and hit 75+ FPS w/ DLSS (no frame generation, because the latency).

I did make a 5600 DDR4 build, and its about $150 cheaper, but I think I'll easily make up the savings by using less energy and having less issues down the road for upgrading.

Since the HP Omen has issues, what do you think about the MSI MAG FLOW?

I was a big Lian Li fan until I had 2 of their AIOs fail on me within 3 years.

I still like their case fans and case design, but they lost a lot of goodwill in my eyes.

DDR4 is officially dead in 2-3 quarters. Micron is stopping production and they are the last producers still making DDR4.

Definitely don't invest in DDR4 or AM4. If you already have an AM4 board, the 5800X3D is a super solid CPU still, but don't build "new" with AM4.

You wouldn't notice much going ddr4 to DDR5. But I agree no point in doing an am4 build.

This depends really on what you consider noticeable. There can be over a 30fps diff depending on setup and ram. Alot of variables to consider but there is a stark difference between when ddr5 came out vs where it is now. Even among ddr5 vs ddr5 you can find fps vids to show differences between them. It may not make a huge difference depending on what resolution your rendering tho.

and i use ddr5 9000 till the 10k sticks come out, but can you use a 9800x3d on ddr4 at the moment? idr its been a while since i touched ddr4

I just told my wife I bought an open box 5060 TI 16 GB for $405. (She knows I've been waiting for prices to drop).

She asked how much I saved. $30. She asked since I normally don't buy second hand digital prodcuts if thats a wise decision.

Would yall trust an open box 5060 ti? They just came out a month or two ago. But, then again, may not be worth the discount to just buy new and never worry about it.
