LIAN LI O11D MINI V2 Flow | Compact ATX Mid-Tower Airflow Computer Case | Panoramic View | High-Performance Airflow | Includes 5 x 120mm Reverse Blade Fans | Cable Management | Black (O11DMIV2FX)

it's the same price w/ lian li quality and all the modern amenities of pc case 2025
What would be the practical difference between the two? It runs cooler?

it benchmarks really well

i would have no idea how the other case benches, it's essentially an enclosed open air test bench
I dont know much about building my own computers. I've done it before, but it was a disaster in fall 2024. I built a 7800 xt / 7600x build in a mid-sized msi tower. I spent 12 hours working on it over 3 days and just decided to abandon it and get a legion go instead. However, if this case is better and the same size, I'm down. I appreciate the advice.

well all the more better than, since the o11 mini has the traditional architecture of a pc case, you can easily follow along w/ any guide like this one i guess

and you can read the manual and follow a guide and ask this type of question

and everyone would be able to help you out and you'd even understand what the heck standoff is.

but it is not the same size, it is wider

Alright, this is what I'm thinking about going with. Again, this isn't a gaming PC, mostly just a workstation for some software dev tinkering and the aforementioned Thinkorswim trading platform.

Waiting on Prime Day to see if any of this stuff goes on sale. Also, decided on a 9700x instead of 9900x. 9900x seems like an overkill and for single threaded apps and doesn't really offer much benefit for my uses anyway.

Thinkorswim needs a gpu its more gpu heavy than cpu.

Based on the Amazon Prime Day deals, now looking at:

I realize the 7900X is Zen4, but doesn't seem Zen5 was a huge upgrade anyway?

Alternate choice is the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D which is on sale for $338.

Vanilla Zen4 (non-X3D) to Vanilla Zen5, not really.

Zen5 X3D, though, pretty significant difference, if you can swing the price.

Eh, 7800x3d vs 9800x3d you’d be hard pressed to notice a different really.

The difference is roughly ~8% and comes mainly from the higher clocks. 9000X3D CPUs moved the cores to sit between the Vcache and the IHS/CPU heatsink allowing for better cooling and thus higher clocks. 5000 and 7000 had the Vcache between the cores and IHS so heat had to travel through the Vcache to the IHS which kept clocks (Power) lower.

Thoughts? Finally below MSRP. Was hoping for the XT but they are still up there in price.

Nevermind! PowerColor XT for $639. Close enough.

Yeah, but it's over $120 in savings going with the 7800X3D right now. So if he's trying to save money or able to put it towards a better GPU, I'd go with the 7800X3D.

well i'm sure you realize your expandability is nil and you won't turboboost to higher sustained speeds/oc b/c your heatsink is limiting you

if i were to work w/ that, i'd suggest you get a aio, the case you chose can accept a 280

if youre going for budget, idcooling is no frills

for 35$ more
Eh, not all ITX systems have to be limited. This is my simrig ITX system (Lian Li A-3 case, 7800X3D with a 280 AIO, 4090).

I have a 7800X3D, when the 9xxx 3D series came out the difference at 4K was 1% average. I won't notice.

Alright boys.

How's this as a second attempt? Tbh, I'd rather go with a small form factor case but I'm concerned that heat/air flow issues and then premium upgrade cost for SFX/ITX components. Likewise, if I ever upgrade to a Nvidia 6080 (when the time comes) or a AMD 9800x3D, not sure if heating would again be an issue. The Meshroom s v2 looks awesome, but Amazon says its frequently returned. I think the NZXT H5 Flow looks more aesthetic than the fish tank Lanx Lanx recommended. Albeit, I am appreciative of the rec, it's just massive.

To recap:

For: Battlefield 6 + Helldivers 2

I'm comfortable with upscaling.

well now youre going into like regular mid size cases

you might as well get a more modern case if youre going for a mid size

what i mean by modern, is the h5 flow is like from covid era

here's a recent benchmark of modern cases
338a39adb2abc230c78bd205a9242325.png

the h5 flow would bench closer to a hyte y60
1bff838ef98842ebd1e155a8de1c4982.png

(from this older benchmark)

i mean you want a cooler case, youre doing air cooled 9070

i've recommended the top 5 cases to a few ppl, i even have the 217 myself and i'm very happy w/ it (i also have an older h5 case and don't care for it)

Thanks! So the Lian Li Lancool 207 would work based on these? Amazon.com
