Anyone got a line on a good m.2 nvme drive this cyber Monday or is the 990 pro the best current deal? Going to install a second m.2 so I can dual boot Linux.

I picked up a Samsung 9100 Gen 5 2tb drive for $190, but I went looking at gen 4 stuff I would normally buy and it's slim. The difference between high-end drives and budget DRAM-less drives is minimal for typical desktop use, so just get whatever fits your needs.

October is typically when the cheapest Samsung SSD deal happens. October 7 this year had a $133 990 Pro 2TB and the $100 sale back in 2023 was Oct 27. I should have bought multiple two years ago but maybe when all this AI datacenter demand is done the 4TB will become the standard.

I bought a cheap prebuilt PC for the son of my niece for gaming. He never gamed on a PC so I went low end to see if he liked it. 7800 X3D with a 5070. It ran but was very loud even water cooled. I called the company and they called me back a day later with free shipping label. The next day before I sent it they called back and said they would give a refund, just keep it. Who knows the person I talked to was an English speaker and he said they were refunding the entire line from that factory due to an "issue". Whatever, bought him another and may sell off the parts like the memory if prices keep going up.

It had a Gigabyte mother board but the case was odd and incredibly heavy. I mean flat heavy. I mean felt like had a steel beam in it heavy.

is there even a website around?
if it was loud w/ water cooling, just a cheap water cooler then, they usually come w/ cheap fans, also what game was it that tax'd the cpu that much?

Yeah and doesnt the 7800x3d run super cool, anyhow? You could just replace it with a peerless assassin

Got a link? I'll buy one and call in to get it refunded - my kids could use a new PC

I have a major issue that is making me want to throw my own computer out now. Just started.

When I move the mouse I get a VERY loud clicking sound like I'm clicking on shit constantly. Just started. I removed all my sound devices, turned system to silent and sound mixer to zero, turned click speed on mouse to zero and it is super fucking loud even with speakers set to zero. Just moving the mouse it's annoying as hell. I set sound to zero, removed what device to output sound to, etc...

On the computer I got for free the rep told me they had a problem on that line putting them together. It's not running anything on boot up, no game etc...My dumb guess is they didn't get the block seated to the CPU or something. It's annoying and at some point later I'll take it apart and see and/or put a new AIO on it or something. But it was free so I bought him something else for now, but my mous lol. I'll have to look for the link, it's a skytech system 7800x3d with 5070ti. Not even gaming and you know they had a problem when they just tell you don't send it back just keep it and refund you the money. Guy said they had set up a new line/factory for assembly and they were all coming back. He mentioned it was like bankruptcy, but what does a sales rep know he was probably doing just what he was told.

FIXED. Removed my Razr mouse and threw the super cheap mouse that came with the prebuilt I'm sitting on. It sucks but at least it's not mega loud just moving across the screen.

I've had it for a long time and liked it. I had a logitech once and I gave it away. I also had one I can't remember the name of, anything branded gaming I'm usually not a fan of. My Razer is/was very simple without umpteen buttons on it.

I plugged it up again today and it didn't do it, must have been a setting but I didn't change anything.

Speaking of computers, say goodbye to Crucial RAM I guess as they chase data centers instead

This also effects their SSD line so hope you bought your black friday one or good luck. They are 25/26% of the current consumer market btw. I cant wait to sell the 256 unopened gigs of G-Skill DDR5 I bought in the fall on sale and buy a new house next summer. Its already 4x the price as it is.

What the fuck lol.
