I think i was drawn to the simplistic nature of the Antec's. I have the Antec 900 for the last couple years, and I don't mind it. Some of the cable management has been a pain, but nothing out of the ordinary.
Drives me up a wall when I see these cases with blue lights, and all sorts of stuff. To each their own though, but this isn't a laptop you'll be lugging around, so I guess I just don't see a point in making it look "cool".
But again, to each their own. If that's your thing, there is certainly a market for it.

Unless this was already answered, the Asus is cheaper for a reason. It's nearly 100mhz slower on its core clock speed.

That'll make a bigger difference in a games performance than almost any choice of processor(short of buying a total crap CPU that's like $50). Of course there's a 99% chance you can overclock the other card by 100mhz and catch it up, but then again, the one that is faster to begin with can probably overclock as well to an even faster speed, if that's something you want to get in to.
All that being said, It's still a single-digit performance % difference, maybe 5-7% at best, but that's a bigger performance difference than many other choices you might make with a computer. Its a bigger difference than faster RAM, or overclocking your CPU from 3.4 to 4 ghz, etc.

But cable management in the Antecs are out of the ordinary now. Look at the routing options in the 900 & 300 vs something like a Corsair 400R or 330R. Granted some of the v2 versions of their cases are slightly better, but they are still no where near manufacturers like Fractal Design, Corsair, NZXT, etc.
Antec was top dog years ago, but a lot of their cases have not kept up with the features that a many cases come with now.

I appreciate all the input from everyone. I dont mind having options and it always comes down to how much you want to spend really. Yea I think the Asus is the better option from what Ive read as well.
I like the Fractal case since the PC will be on the top of the desk. If I put it on the floor its going to be a cat hair vacuum especially on pergo flooring. Not looking for crazy design just something simple and sleek with good cable management.

That Antec 1200 case isn't very good at all. It wants to be a nice case, but its crippled by some serious design flaws.
To begin with, the cable management is particularly bad. One tiny hole under the motherboard and next to the psu. Not even half an inch of clearance behind the motherboard tray for your cables. No CPU cut-out.
The case is far too narrow for enthusiast hardware and coolers. The top 200m fan leaves no room to be replaced by any other options like dual fans or a rad.
The removable drive-bays are a real hassle if you need to add or remove new drives. And the removable dust filters, basically require disassembly of your PC to get at.
The Antec 1200 has been totally outclassed by far better and cheaper alternatives.

Seems they are sold out and back ordered from most places. This has to be the sexiest case Ive seen for the price. Love how they have the shroud over the power supply. It just doesn't have any optical bays but then I dont even remember the last time I used my DVD drive for anything. Just finished setting up my computer last night since the processor finally came in. I hadn't run any of the power cables previously (PS is all modular), so using the cable management holes I had just a huge clump of cables sticking out the back and I was worried how it was all going to fit with the side on. Then I remembered that the Corsair 500R has the side that angles out for precisely that reason. I had to smooth out the clump a little, but it went on perfectly and you can't see a thing from the side you normally look at the inside from. Absolutely love this case.

i have a 5 year old p.o.s. hp all in one that i have upgraded with a gtx 570 and a 550w psu.
i'm going to microcenter this weekend with the tax return to get a new mobo/processor, ssd, case and memory.
this will be the first computer i have built, and my question is, can i just plug in my old hard drives and will they work with the new gear?
or do i need to reformat them and start from scratch?

You should install the SSD by itself, install your new OS, then once you have everything setup you can attach your old drives for storage. You can leave the data on them if needed but if it was my machine I would move docs, favorites, etc off the old windows drive then format it so it can be used as a clean data drive.
