After complaints about being forced to use new gear, Bungie removed most of the damage bonus (from 15% down to 5 max) and now the new gear feature mostly only exists for challenges like the Avant-Garde modifier which forces you to use new gear for high bonus points in some portal activities.

Correct. Renegades or any portal content other than quickplay nodes will start shooting your power up pretty quickly.

Turns out I wasn’t on the last mission. I had one more. Jesus I don’t know if I just suck but the final mission was like an hour 15 on legendary lol. Fucking no idea why I left it on legendary solo when it gave me no bonus. Gonna get this exotic weapon they quest after the campaign then move to renegades. Still a handful of shit left on Kepler to knock out too.

im not sure how I feel about this new big bad and her past. I hope she’s dealt with in the raid and we can wrap up the echoes stuff. The stories for the 3 echoes seasons or whatever was meh at best but they had great gameplay and missions.

You should have at least unlocked your class exotic for doing the campaign on legendary, might need to talk to an npc in the Kepler hub.

She's not in the raid directly but you do find the "real" version of her. Hasn't been focused on at all since, but she's not dead yet. Wasn't mentioned at all during Renegades as far as I can remember.

Came back to get my $35 bucks worth from the sale they had in October. Finished the Renegades campaign on legendary and it seemed a bit easy. Man, they really skimped on the voice acting this time. Especially on the 3 faction leaders. The light saber is fun, and the story was ok. Not looking forward to running the Fire and Ice mission 4 more times on legendary with a time limit to unlock the catalysts for the praxic blade. They could have also picked a better villain other than the Kylo Ren wanna be we got. Doubt this is going to retain people for very long. I did a couple of 3 mans in the new area and don't see myself grinding these out for rank. The season pass relic choices are kinda meh as well.

You can cheese the timer away and get all 3 catalysts done in a single run. LFG players always find the path of least resistance. The lack of syndicate VA's was a huge bummer I agree, especially since the other VA's they had did so well. Maxing my first faction took like 2 days, you also get a 50% bonus to your chosen side for a day any time you switch allegiance.

This is an interesting take because the sword and sniper ones are pretty strong. Especially the one that creates a weak point / free ammo for the new heavy sniper.

So... am I going to have to complete all sorts of past campaign stuff to unlock prismatic? subclass builds, or are there catchup mechanics in current content for that?

I haven't played in forever (briefly played when they added stasis so that was what I was using until Ikora told me to pick a color so I got a bunch of cool new arc shit - glad they updated stuff to do nifty things the way stasis was), and was enticed by a trailer or a friend talking about it to tinker, so gaming ADD has me hyperfocused on this briefly. My Google / AI Fu not coming through, so thought I'd ask in case others were familiar.

All subclass unlocks remain tied to the expansion they released with. Prismatic subclass unlocks early within The Final Shape, but you find more ability unlocks through the campaign and six side missions launched from the Pale Heart tower.

The, obviously, desperate Star Wars brand deal absolutely cemented me never touching Destiny again because the SW brand has been so catastrophically fagged up and poisoned over the last decade, anything with the label makes me physically ill.

Andor has been the only exception for many, many, years. Still, I was extremely reticent to watch it and basically spent the first 2 episodes with my arms, metaphorically crossed, ready to turn the dumb shit off. Thankfully, it was actually good.

I've actually been pretty happy with this release. I went in expecting to never want to login again, but I'm having fun so far. Nearly done the gameplay loop though. Hopefully the dungeon delivers.
