Luckily, nothing is really permanent. It shouldn't be too hard to snag a different primary. Worst case scenario I just go back to my scout rifle until I stock up marks again. It won't take long.

I need Vault easy, never done before but 28 lock.

What Vanguard or Crucible weapons are actually worth buying? I know the hand cannon "The Devil You Know" is suppose to be very good, but what else?

yeah but i already did it on my lock so i can't re-enter just the atheon save anymore, it makes me start from the beginning. it also usually takes a few tries to solo it, first time it took me about an hour second time about 15 minutes (~45 secs per try).

thefourth should be able to solo it though and yeah you can just jump off, the video link last paged is exactly the way I did it in both normal and hard, he just 2 shots you in hard so gotta be really careful. just remember, when you fail and if you used both grenades go to orbit so you can reset grenade c/d. also pick agility options on weapons so you can get to the spot faster, in hard every second counts since his purple balls hit so damn hard

re: loot, as i understand it you can only get loot from the chests in vog once per week, normal or hard. you can get loot from the bosses twice, once for normal each boss and once for hard. you definitely get loot for both, i got confluence and ship both times. you won't get any more loot for further clears though until tue reset. this applies per character, you can do alts and get more.

you are also saved to someone elses checkpoint the second you zone in when they are leader, but you can reset the checkpoint from the raid launch menu. you can't start a hard mode raid if you haven't cleared normal, but you can join someone elses hard.

if you are gonna cheese hard atheon i'd do it tonight, bungie would be dumb not to roll out a hotfix tomorrow before the weekend

my titan never cleared normal so i am not sure if i am saved or not, i zoned in while a friend was leader (i gave him my warlocks hard atheon save point) and that should theoretically give my titan a hard save. i did send a msg to all the rerolled peeps online this morning and a few people joined my warlock and got the save, if one of them is up tonight they could post here.

i can't think of a good way for my titan to launch hard mode VOG though, since only fireteam leader can launch raid and you can't get saved to a cleared instance.

Xur has the icebreaker.

My two buddies are 28, I just got the game last week so I'm only 22, but soon I think we'd love to give that a try. Maybe next week or weekend?

Xur is being hella kind to me this week with Raspberry and Icebreaker. Couple coins short for both, but that shouldn't be a problem.

I was extremely lucky and decrypted my second dropped purple engram into an Ice Breaker when I was 21 or 22. It was and continues to be a game changer. It effectively negates the Juggler modifier when playing heroics solo. On VOG normal I was doing around 12,500 dmg to Atheon with each precision hit, and emptying my clip fast enough to switch to my primary or heavy to do more damage.

I never really did loot cave, and have only received maybe 6 or 7 purple engram drops in all the time I've spent playing. Since the change I've only seen one purple engram drop (decrypted into energy...) and haven't received a any from Strikes, which kind of sucks because I was hoping that it would actually make strikes somewhat viable for progression.
