With their brilliant "no matchmaking" policy for the raid, I really dont understand how they expect a majority of the players to make use of their raid. Sure, some people have friendlists a kilometer long, but some of us are just starting to get into console gaming and finding 5 other people who can play when you can (hello RL with work, kids, family and so on) is just unforgiving. If it was on PC it would not be an issue for me since I can summon the hordes from the last 10 or so MMOs we have played since the end of the 90s, but somehow most of them refuse to get a console.

Do we have any euro players here who kick around in Destiny euro evenings who wanna give the raid a try?
Pretty much this. I, more or less, maxed out on everything I can do solo. I spent an hour or two yesterday attempting to get together a nightfall group using destinylfg website. It was a pain in the ass and in the end did not work out. This pretty much killed any desire to do any of the pve stuff for me. If i cant log in and then easily pew pew some shit with people who i can communicate with, without having to spend time looking for said people, I am not playing. So their pve, as it stands right now, is wasted on me. I still enjoy the pvp and will do that but i will be spending quiet a lot less time on the game than i did before..

TLDR: No matchmaking for some game mode = no thanks to that game mode

I may just have to try and sneak out early for that hard mode save. Surely they'll fix the glitch tomorrow.

I'm really liking Vision of Confluence, but a chance at a Mythoclast is tempting.

So I'm a level 10 lock, DaScott804. Have sympathy and add me because I don't have a smart phone and bluestacks refuses to install and plugging in a keyboard means swapping my monitor back and forth to type in your names and dammit I'm lazy. Sony headset and new mouse (g502 holy hot) arrived today so I'm all set. (I had no idea how outdated 1600 DPI was, so I expect the XIM experience to improve significantly)

I've read next to nothing about the game so I'm just winging it until the story dries up. Like I thought emblems were some sort of faction modifier (wow tabards) and eventually looked up that they are meaningless. I still don't know what the point of the statless class armor is. I spent time doing some bounties / patrol stuff and rocketed past the story in levels so now I just do them on hard. And some of them have had some pretty insane masses of mobs to deal with that were pretty fun - does the hard switch do anything other than +levels? For weapons I'm just using whatever is better quality at the time.

I notice in PVP that if its gun vs gun, I win that shit easy no matter how high level they are. But random death to supers / nades / rockets is pretty much "eh, what can you do?" Especially if you're capping a flag which screams "blindly bomb the shit out of this location." And I guess shotguns were nerfed into the ground at some point because I recall reading how great they are and they appear to be absolutely worthless in all aspects of the game. Charging in for a shotgun/melee combo to make it effective must take some build that i don't have access to. Are you supposed to go for the running slide-in?

Some bummers - one, you can't counter recoil manually. Which really throws me off after BF. And those load times, lord. I flip over to my PC because there are only so many hours in a day. Oh, and the odds of getting a fresh PVP match instead of "some twat quit a loser" is roughly on par with WoW. Which wouldn't be so annoying thanks to the quick matches, if not for all the time spent matchmaking/loading the map again.

WTB catch-up mechanics in PVP so joining a one sided shit-fest gives you a chance to turn it around. Faster cooldowns?

kreugen - gear and levels have virtually no impact in pvp, people who are lower level/geared get boosted stats to be equivalent to higher levels. its really just weapons that make a difference, the best weapons just have longer range, bigger clips, more stability, etc than the shit weapons. right now fusion rifles, auto rifles, and shotguns dominate in pvp.

having MMOd with you a bunch of times i'd honestly suggest trading in the game, there is virtually nothing about it you will like. its a massive RNG grindfest with no real matchmaking and the difficulty level boils down to "stay alive"

Well, some of the talent selection has an impact too I'd think. Plus the perks attached to the weapons/armor themselves. But I just noticed quickly that it's more MMO than FPS PVP simply because cooldowns are so dominant and aim tracking so strong. Dying with a super up is so derp.

What I do like about the game is the FPS PVE stuff is pretty hectic and fun. Far more so than any of the other sad attempts at a FPS MMO, as well as most FPS of the last decade in general. Loads of enemies at once, with varying ways of stopping you from just playing endless cover shooter peek-a-boo. (which basically turns into a priority ladder of charging melee guys -> dudes who can grenade/aoe you -> snipe the big bad -> clean up the ranged hiding everywhere) I mean, the game doesn't have much in the way of story or puzzles or whathaveyou - you just have the FPS action, and that part of it is pretty good. The base weapon + gooder weapon with slightly rare ammo + gooderest weapon with really rare ammo works well. I like the powerful melee strikes with incentives to use them.

Seems like it may be possible for users to login to PSN during the maintenance period:

PSN Status: Offline

During this maintenance period, you may receive a message that states "Sony Entertainment Network is undergoing maintenance" when attempting to access the PlayStation Store or PlayStation Home. If you have signed in to PSN within 5 days prior to the start of maintenance, you may be able to play games online and enjoy apps such as Netflix, HULU Plus and Music Unlimited during this maintenance period.

PS4 users will not be able to view the What's New, Live, and Library areas of their console. Share functions will be impacted as well.

Most obvious missed potential: Space Combat. Repeat for.. a bunch of games over the last decade+.

Really surprised at how unambitious the whole thing really is. And how clueless they are about the whole social interaction thing.

The parts that are basically just Halo seem to be the only strength of the game.
