There should be some sort of official thresh hold of XXX amount of hours in RoS played to be able to whine about drops. Watching these "I'VE PLAYED LIKE 100 HOURS AND GOTTEN 3 SET PIECES" people piss me off.

A: You probably had shit gear and played in sub-torment 20+% of that. New sets don't drop in non-torment.
B: You probably moved up to T1 and played that for 60% of the time. Shit drop-rate.
C: You then made it to the land of T3+ in group play for the other 20% or less and started to see set items.

Doi.

I've got 200+ hours in RoS and I play in T3+ with a group of at least 2 other people, often one of the same class, and I've gotten all of my set items for monk except innas helm/pants and raiment of the storms pants. I've also gotten probably 4+ set pieces for other classes including crusader/DH/Barb/Wizard. All on my monk.

Bottom line:

Play with people that can boost your torment rate and your rate of farming. You'll see loot and when you get to the point where 95% is shit you can complain, but for me that 5% is the only thing that keeps me playing besides helping other people get gear. I've gotten 3 Odyn Son's and 0 with a main stat roll. But that's one of the sole reasons why I keep going.
Grats on getting lucky, whats your fucking point. That you won the RNG and got your set pieces? I have played well over 200 hours since ROS launched and have gotten 2 Vry's Chests and Pants.. sadly having two of the same thing doesn't do shit for you. Also I could deal with not getting rare set pieces to drop but I have completed at this point about 3500 bounties trying to get both the RoRG and the Act 2 gloves.. you know the few items you can target farm and out off what 300-400 caches I have gotten so many of everything but the needed pieces it's fucking sickening.

Bottom line anyone who has lucked out on drops and wants to pretend the game is just fine because "I got mine" can eat a bag of dicks.

Or is it those that have bad luck and didn't get their drops can go kick fucking rocks?

See what I did there?

It's pretty difficult to be motivated to log in knowing that the patch will improve your odds of getting the items you want and provide better RvR.

I think if Seasons work like D2 Seasons, they're going to need to drastically increase Legendary Drop rates, or start giving us a way to pursue specifics legendary items and sets. If they gave Campaign Malthael a guaranteed class set item drop every first kill, people would be running campaign non-stop. That points out a fairly serious problem. People want a Full Set + Specific Leg because it enables builds that are capable of doing higher difficulties. They don't want that shit because the build is cool or fun, they want it because it's a requirement.

If the possible builds were better optimized, there would still be build-changers, like the Wand of Woh, but if you didn't have a Wand of Woh yet, you could still go with a Meteor Build.

I think people would be less frustrated if their situation was "I need a better roll on a belt toefficientlydo a higher difficulty" rather than "I need to get these exact 3 items all with good rolls to have any advancement at all"

I think they'll add a bunch of crafted items to help people fill gaps.
seeing as farming for materials in this game is dumb as fuck, I hope to god they do not make anymore craftables in this game fuck that shit.

I'm using the idea of 'luck', a non-existent paranormal belief', and applying it to the opposite side of his argument. Let me fix it:

RNGjesus doesn't love me. RNGjesus hates you.

Stop crying about it and sacrifice more sheep.

So, you're saying I need to burn my hand with lye to get good drops?

Well you could say me farming higher level torments with high playing time with a fullish group allowed me to get all the sweet drops.

But nah, probably the lye think. I'm just lucky.

Also, I'm super lucky being a monk because getting my set bonuses means nothing! Huzzah!

Yeah I must be stretching there.. it makes much more sense that Blizzard just dropped the AH to make people like you happy.
Your reason sounds plausible so I'm not saying you are wrong, but saving your multi-million dollar IP that wasnt gonna sell an expansion well enough based on the D3 classic reputation certainly played into it too. Tons of people came into this thread with doubt before/after 2.0 as opposed to the usual Blizzard circlejerk, and I think Blizzard likes that their titles are (were?) auto-buy for most gamers.

So now that the game actually has a difficulty setting that makes gear worthwhile, people want to bitch because the game is too hard? To get gear for your toon, you actually have to play the game, and people bitch about that. To improve my ability to melt faces, I have to play the game.

Why the fuck are you people bitching about being required to play a game you bought? What point in life did you get the idea that shit just comes to you? Oh boo fucking hoo, you got the same piece of shit a tenth time. Big fucking deal. If all you got were perfect items, this game would have ZERO life expectancy.

Would you guys rather go 3 weeks without seeing ANYTHING AT ALL, then get one good upgrade? Or get items for 3 weeks with only one being good? I wish i could say that's what I'm seeing, but it's not. You guys seem to think that just by logging in, you should get free items. Where in games did we as players become soft? At what point did you guys wake up and say "Fuck this?" The point when you realized that playing a video game to become the best actually requires time?

Oh, I'm sorry let me make this clearer.

You purchase a game, and an expansion to that game. You now have to progress through that game for various reasons. If your goal is to clear through Torment level 6, then expect to play the game for quite a while to acquire the gear.

That is NOT what is happening. People are bitching now that T3/4 is as far as they can get without praying to RNGesus. Basically trying to say that they feel entitled to get good drops. How many crafted items did you make in Diablo 2? How many of them were perfect? You want to bitch about the drop rates of a game that is just coming up on two months old? Talk to me in six months child. If you've played the same toon for a solid 6 months and still haven't achieved perfect gear, then yea something is broken. But two months in, give me a break with all this RNG bullshit talk.

What the fuck does 4-5 weeks matter, some of us play way more then others will in 2 weeks then they will over 2 months. This game is anyhitng but hard on any level. There is no depth, no customization, no strategy. Its get EQ set out of random luck then farm t6 to then upgrade said EQ set. What the fuck is a free item in a single player with optional co-op anyways. Who are you competing against exactly? Diabloprogress?

Anyways, there really is only 1-2 builds per class that are playable at the highest level, THAT is the god damn problem. You a wizard and want to do t6? Sorry cant do it without a Wand of Woh. Barb? EQ or BiS fire items for hammer. WD? Pets or gtfo. Should everyone be able to do t6 right away? Absolutely not. Should you be able you are feel like you are progressing to that goal? Yep. Since there is so few items that actually matter and they are so rare you may never progress independent of time invested.

By the way, some of the more vocal people in this thread (myself included), probably have more played time in RoS then the people saying "lol well i got full Jade Harvester in 3 weeks wtf is the problem". Well from your pov I guess nothing, but you hit the proverbial lottery. It used to be when you didn't hit the lottery you could trade for a piece thus....PROGRESSION TO A GOAL. Now that's gone and was replaced by nothing. Well Kadala maybe but she is fucking useless a lot of the time.

But never mind you are right, 380 hours on a Wizard rolled 1 week before RoS release. 2 Tal Rasha Necks, and 1 Belt, No TF, No Mirrorball, No Iceclimbers, No Fire Andys, Not even a WoW or a Gesture so maybe I could do a CDR Archon build to group t6 etc. Are these items required to progress? In the current meta yep. Gear matters more then build since they stripped the customization away.

I cant wait for the final fuck you to be a Mirrorball with 1 extra missile instead of 2.

But bro, you payed for the game so you cant complain about having to play the game. Don't have the loot you want? play more bro. Fucking entitled loot begging casual. Hur.

Yea I guess trading 1 (or all) of 9 of my duplicate SoJ's for an item I want is pretty god damn casual. Meanwhile that fucktard who gets a 2400 pre socketed Thunderfury 5 minutes after 70 "earned" it.

And grinding for those sojs in d2 was so much more fun, because it was to supplement other things, like pvp, or building a new character, or being more efficient at leveling to climb the ladder, or to trade for that godly perfect stat item.

What does d3 offer?.. a higher torment? Lol

So, even if all variants of classes were viable to play in T6, you would still be required to acquire gear to clear T6. If your problem with being able to clear that content is items, then you shouldn't be doing something above your ability. It's why it was put in in the first place. Does anyone remember the second Uber from Diablo 2? The one EVERYONE and their fucking mom made a Paladin with Smite to kill them? It was literally unkillable by anyone but a Smiter. Great design right?

My barb is far from having good gear, I might have 4-5 pieces that will last me until T6. But everything else is to be replaced. And I'll still sit here with my 180 hours of RoS play time and say that the loot diversity is fine. If you want to include trading into the conversation, what does it really fix? People just don't willy nilly trade/sell off their best shit unless they're quitting. There is nothing universal about gear anymore that indicates trading would be good. If you had a Wand of Woh, would you EVER trade it off for anything? No you wouldn't.

You think that putting in the time over one month vs six months is any different? What's the point of doing something fast in a game that has no long term gain? Does fully gearing out a toon in a week help you out in anyway? No, it'll only help others. Once geared, with no upgrades in sight, whats the point of playing that toon anymore? Does not being perfect upset you so much that you want to bitch about something you truly don't comprehend? Blizzard could give a fuck all if anyone ever 'completed' their toon or this game. So why the fuck do you think bitching about your lack of ability to do T6 because of gear is going to change anything?

You know exactly why Blizzard has made the game they way they have, yet you still want to bitch. Past history with Blizzards games will show you that they truly don't give a fuck if anyone ever finishes it. Diablo 3 is a failure of a game, we know that. It's not a failure because of the items and RNG, but if you insist that's problem, have fun complaining. I'll sit here and play the game as Blizzard intended, slowly.
