Once you open your item shop, I don't consider the game as beta anymore. D3 definitely has it's place, the combat feels much smoother and it's not plagued by desync issues every 5 minutes.

Blizz is no longer worried about D3. These features should of never taken this long to be released or should of been there since launch. D3 was just a guinea pig for Titan's real money transaction feature.

I don't think it really hurt the game nearly as much as the game not being particularly fun hurt the game. The AH is kind of a scapegoat for all the other problems with the game.
All they had to do was make D2 again with a modern skill system and less repetitive gameplay. Instead they half-assed the skills (slowly getting better) and made the zones even more repetitive than they were in D2. There should be enough interesting side events and side areas to keep each game from being exactly like the last, but there isn't.

An AHin a game like thisis nothing more than a store, don't kid yourselves. It's a great idea in theory, but in reality it just doesn't work and breaks down the entire game. Actual person to person trade has to be the method of economy.

I actually like the GAH but wish they didn't put in the RMAH. Like Mures says you can run a quad bot running nightmare and actually make decent money. So since there are real-world reasons to bot and ruin the economy many people will do it.
