Sure it is. Let's say GGG has 100 devs working on PoE and Blizzard has 10 working on Diablo. Does Blizzard make 10 times more than GGG? Easily. They have the funds to have enough man hours at a cost that will barely affect their bottom line, the tradeoffs in increased revenue with some solid Diablo 3 content or new Diablo stuff, would easily make up for it.

EDIT: Think about it. They have a practical GUARANTEE that they will get revenue from new Diablo 3 content or Diablo 4 or D2 remaster. Guarantee. 100%. It's a for sure bet. Why would you not go after this?
Because they make more money investing those manhours into other projects. Low-hanging Diablo fruit might very well turn a profit. They likely have long list of current and future projects that will return a better profit, even for a company its size.

PoE lives and breathes by putting out new content to keep people buying new microtransactions. Problem with D3 is it's set up like a game from 10 years ago. Most players don't want 40 dollar expansions and character DLCs, that shit has gone the way of the dinosaurs and is probably completely ignored by the vast majority of the playerbase and just helps segment the community. People expect 'free' content paid for by optional microtransactions which something D3 is not set up for, they could add it in but would probably receive a backlash that would make this mobile diablo shit look tame as fuck. At some point you just have to consider a game finished and move onto the next project. Why have people working on new classes for D3 when they could be working on new classes for D4.

This just raise the question to me, wtf are they doing with all the money. They got nothing to present. The warcraft 3 annoucement was cute but it should have been: bam blizzcon, wabam war3 remaster released this weekened. At least we get something from this multi million dollars company. War 3, a game already released in early 2k is still set for december 2019. A fkin year away. What have they been doing FFS???? Diablo immortal is outsourced to the East. They got literally zilch to show for their main in house event. At this point, cancel futur blizzcon, go back to a stand at E3 blizz. Thats where diablo mobile should be. Small 1 person stand besude the line for the toilets.

How the mighty have fallen.

Dude, you know how time and money consuming it is to make those pretty cinematics that they rolled out for the WoW patch, the new Overwatch character, the Warcraft 3 remaster and the Diablo Immortal announcement? Got to get the people hyped with pretty trailers even though they have absolutely nothing to do with actual gameplay.

Those Overwatch characters and skins don't draw themselves. Got to use all that brainpower to determine the best odds in order for consumers not to get pissed off but also keep spending their money to get a specific piece of loot inside their lootboxes.

Also they have to pay those thousands of devs to keep pumping out those cards for Hearthstone so people keep buying those card packs even though the game is stale and hasn't had any new game modes and features added to it since forever.

So yeah, they are actually quite busy over there at Blizzard HQ.

Like I said the other day, I just feel meh now when I login after the Mobile announcement. I am going to knock out the Guardian Achievement today or tomorrow and probably move on to POE.

They keep repeating that they are working on multiple Diablo projects, alright. Diablo mobile, Hearthstone rip-off, first person pvp moba game, dungeon keeper lite for mobile. Boom, four Diablo projects but nothing anyone wants. If they had any intention to make a D4 in the next 5 years they would mention it for damage control. But they don't, it is always multiple projects but no mention of D4. Read between the lines.

Most people can't. Just reading this thread you can see how many people are lined up ready to believe D4 wasn't shelved last year.
