Its fun to play new classes at launch in a lot of games, as they are usually op. Before they get nerfed back down to normal.

What do you mean(As I look at my God Like Paladin)?

They are going to hit the Paladin so hard it will leave a small crater. It has been fun though.

That nerdy dude that follows all the blizzard stuff, but mostly Diablo - he says it plays completely different than what he would expect. So thats something, I guess.

Warlock that subverts expectations…melee based? Setup mechanics like delayed traps and large aoe explosions? Full demon controller thst can shift into various demon forms?

I haven't logged in probably since about 3-4 months after release but a friend of mine went back recently and said they have made some pretty huge strides in the game. Said it reminds him more of D3 than it used to but still not perfect. If nothing else, said it was more fun, simpler, and felt more intuitive. Thinking of trying it out but was thinking of letting more of the changes roll out and closer to expansion. Be curious to see folks thoughts on current state of the game.

That seems to be about the standard opinion in this thread since the start of this season at least. The season journey is not as enjoyable as D3, partly because it feels less rewarding (where are my extra bank tabs?!?) and I liked how tier sets in D3 made progressing through/switching end game specs a little easier. That is, every season you got an easy to get set to get you started, then transitioned to one or more other specs, later on, as you collected stuff.

Not sure I would start this season so late into it now instead of just waiting a month(?). The season mechanic that requires you to kill bosses to level up a special type of "gear" is kinda AIDS. Without being able to AFK level the "best" one up, I doubt I would have played nearly as long as I did (AFK method needs enough people playing that one person is chain summon the boss on normal and one geared player is insta killing it).

That mechanic is not that big of a deal. I assume you are referencing Masterworking. Just farm Treasure maps and you get plenty of Obducite. I have 50k on my character. The tough part comes from trying to get good Mythic drops. If you do not care about season stuff you can jump in pretty easy. If you want fast and easy just play the Paladin.

The cosmetic rewards seemed ass compared to PoE or D3. I assume that’s to sell $25-50 whale armor. That said, I do think that shit you find plays into dingy class fantasy really well.

I was talking about the Azmodius essence level 5 leading to an abundance of keys. I was getting 5 to 7 Mythic Undercity keys from every world boss spawn with that essence equipped along with 40 to 50 other keys. I probably sharded 300+ keys and rolled them into new ones looking for mythic trickster... which I never saw. The Mythic Undercity keys give at least 3 or 4 Mythic a day (I think there may be a cap or at least massive diminishing drop percent for each looted).

I never ran out of any currency, but I didn't start masterwork or maximizing my loot until I had ilevel 800 gear with top 5 stats on it. Not that it's needed, as before that bosses were already around 1 or 2 hits to kill in Torment 4.

I don't last very long once there is no goal left in the season journey and for me its over when I get the final reward bundle, not checking all the boxes for worthless loot boxes. I got to ~205 paragon before calling it quits, which is more than the season I played on release, which was 180ish.
