Just wanted to clarify what I meant by "MVP".........I'm snapping fucking necks.

21 kills 13 assists = translation: there wasn't a single play in the match I wasn't on. I was singlehandedly responsible for the enemy team's demise, each enemy, at almost every second of the game.

And this is just one Gold match out of several where I'm destroying. I still MVP in games when whales are present although my ratio goes down.

FTP can play this game. I know @Skinner is making things happen in Legend on his necro.

I'm up to 2246 CR. Started doing some pvp recently, have been MVP a few times. Best game was 19-0 k:d. There are games where I run into a whale who can be afk for 5 seconds with me wailing on them and their hp drops maybe 10-20% and they then turn around and 1 or 2 shot me pretty much instantly; other than that it's decent. I wish there was just a regular arena style pvp match instead of the destroy/defend the heart thing they have, seems like 80% of players have no idea what they're supposed to be doing from an objective standpoint

Not yet Nirgon.

Just won the shadow war over the weekend. My guild will defend a few weeks, or as long as we can remain in power and then I'm willing to agree to a mutual separation.

Patch coming seems like they loosened the rope as slight as possible. Few extra legendary crest options as f2p / class change (so you spend even MORE money!) / and a new batch of legendaries.

Honestly don't see this small update holding peeps over for the next month or so til the next one, but we shall see.

Hilt cap needed to be released and grinding of hilts for crests needed to be allowed.

Patch falls short but still solid for mobile game.

I agree to an extent, and I mean, I'm still pretty addicted to the legendary/set grind. I'm at 2321 CR and still grinding H3, but it does seem pretty impossible to make it to H4 as a f2p.

Also probably won't be able to try the new raid boss, either - I've beaten Vitaath 1 but that's about the extent of it so far.

Definitely good for a mobile game but I just got the D3 PS4 game delivered and I'm hoping my wife gets in to that instead.

If I continue to stay with it after we're dethroned as Immortals-- I'll definitely be class changing to something mobile-friendly like Monk or Barb. If I want to get serious about PvP again I'll just class change back.

You can grind all day at work on those classes in open world. They are completely brainless, especially Monk. The gap closer can close distance faster than a Wizard or DH can close distance, which you would think is impossible. A ranged should be able to tag first, but nope. The Monk gap closer is so powerful they can beat a range to a pack and aoe gib it much faster than even an AOE burst specialist like a Wizard can. You can be AFK on Monk and completely invincible in H3 and just mindlessly touch screen your phone. Literally 0 effort to play a Monk on mobile.

As for prog I'm pretty far along. Paragon 105 and 2500+ CR while wearing BIS 4set. And near 2750 max CR with it removed.

If the game was monetized better I'd probably give them a Deluxe box price of maybe 100 $. That's the thing. The jig is up on that. The lootbox is so jammed with trash and your chance to get beyond 2/5 upgradable gems from crests is nil. There is literally no good sense way to spend money on Immortal. It was designed for people who can spend 10,000 USD no problem.

I have way too many guildmates and friends who spent some money and got nothing. Off a 30 pull, they didn't see a single 2/5 star gem. No chance I'd ever justify money on something like that. This isn't just an isolated incident either. Dozens of people spent good money in my guild only to get nothing. Not even any gem power.

I always wondered what type of people play slot machines in Vegas. Now I know.

It baffles me that slots are the biggest money makers for casinos, but watching how much these gatcha games take in I guess I’m the one whose on the outside looking in.

I just can’t believe people spend so much money just for a *chance* at something good. A minuscule chance at that.

Have you seen the stuff Genshin Impact releases? It's by no means solid, it's missing any new content.

Are you sure Genshin isn't a bigger mobile game? They were first to market and have been out awhile.

It has won awards for best game. They are going to invest into something people have invested in.

I got to see some of the culture first hand being in a top ranked Shadow clan and then going on to become Immortals over the past 2-3 weeks.

Slot machine players is a good way to put it. That's exactly the equivalent, and they know it.

They'll randomly throw up a "rack" or 30 roll just any time of day. There's gambling lore that has spread around that if you don't hit 30 rolls, that you don't get bad luck protection (There is no proof or evidence of bad luck protection) Yet everyone who spends money believes in this. The same way slots players have little trinkets and rituals, so do Immortal spenders.

They're all older, boomers from D1 and D2 era with disposable incomes. Haven't met a Twitch whale or a zoomer whale yet out of a 100 person active roster rank 1 guild. It's all guys with solid careers (they play at work all day from what I gathered via talk during working hours, many of them are VP of sales or supervisors or chiefs of some type that hold conference calls while sitting on Immortal grinding) and many are married (Maxroll/Ranteraxx pointed this out in his chat as a reason for deleting Immortal coverage from the Maxroll website and stopping all promotion of the game). At least 5-6 of the core team that actually won my guild the Immortal crown are married or have their significant other also playing, including female significant others in officer roles.

No way this game is not damaging mental health and making people form gambling habits that could translate to other areas in life.

It's very much a family affair. It's not kids with their parents credit card, which was a total 180 from what I had imagined.

I don't know what the fuck you are talking about here.

You think that after main development they sack the team then rehire if the game makes money? Does Diablo Immortal not still have it's dev team in place making content? We gotta wait for them to hire people with the legendary gem money?

Being older means LESS content not more usually as only a few games gain users as they age.

Also Genshin Impact is from some random Chinese studio, Diablo Immortal is from a AAA dev... calling Diablo a "smaller" game is insane.

China is a pretty big market. You're clearly out of your mind if you think it isn't.

Who is this "AAA dev" you speak of? Is that those guys that released their last game in 2012?

So what? This is more irrelevent stuff. Blizzard is active in China too.

Wikipedia has Blizzard as being four times bigger than Mihoyo in terms of assets.

The Diablo Immortal press couldn't have been more abysmal. I can't name any other game that's received that level of universal rejection and backlash.

Purse strings are going to tighten up. The point is Genshin Impact was stroked off by the gaming press. Genshin might not be an established IP, but it has "mass appeal". Diablo, just the name alone, is squeezing it out of the candycrush crew. So rather than developers appeasing the masses and doing something to quell the backlash, execs @ Activision just close up the bag and call it a day. That's Blizzard's style.

Or did you miss how Dragonflight is extremely far along, while Blizzard said Shadowlands had problems with COVID and major content updates had to be significantly delayed and content was ass as a result? I know you remember that much. Consensus is SL was put on life support earlier than anyone thought possible, if you go take a look at the thread here.

Everything is going toward D4 you can be certain.

Blizzard sees backlash and moves to prepare next product.

I don't see why they would invest any money in an IP that hasn't had a release in over a decade, has received a mobile-only official release, and is banned in China-- arguably one of the biggest emerging markets in the world.

Irrelevant my ass.
