You see stuff like that and the conspiritard in me says it's an awfully big coincidence that this movie lined up with the government release of UFO files, where they also convinced a bunch of people to repeat essentially that same line about how this would make people question God.

Almost like this is all a coordinated effort or something.

I mentioned this to my daughter after we saw the movie. She thought I was crazy, because the government can't have evidence of something that doesn't exist.

We both thought the movie was entertaining. I didn't go in expecting an academy award winning movie - and it wasn't. But it was entertaining, and therefore justified the price of the tickets. Nothing more, nothing less.

(Were people expecting some sort of big reveal on UFOs or something? If so, they're stupid. It's just a movie, not a fucking documentary.)

It was more or less a 2 hour fugitive movie stretched out way too long. Then finally at the end with the BIG REVEAL the dude that's been chasing them the entire movie just says FUCK IT BROS I'M DONE and sits down and watches his entire legacy go down the drain. I guess my expectations were way off because I was expecting the big reveal to be at the beginning of the movie and dealing with the consequences of it, not watching them run the the entire time.

The movie is very different than the book in a lot of regards from what I remember (been over 30 years since I read it). Characters from the book die that don't in the movie, some dinosaurs were different, etc. I think the movie also tried to squeeze in some newer paleontology finds that weren't yet discovered when the book was written.

I never read Jurassic Park but I did read Lost World when visiting my grandparents during one summer in the 90's. My grandmother worked at the library of the small town they lived near so I read a LOT of books when tagging along with her. Anyway, yeah, TLW movie is *NOTHING* like the book at all.

Yes, The Lost World movie was almost nothing like the book - may have had entirely different plots and characters altogether. I read the hardcover right when it came out - its been so long I don't remember the book details too much - but when I saw the movie was like, wtf is this?. What I remember is that I liked The Lost World book maybe even more than the first book because it tried to get even more into the science and philosphy of it all. Someday will have to go back and read it.... probably not as good as what I remember.

Jurassic Park the first movie had some parts that were about identical to the book. Like when Newman dies, I vividly remember reading that in the book 35 years ago - killed by the same dinosaur that spits the acid shit on his face, blinding him. Then rips open his guts and he's reaching down holding them as he dies.

Anyways on Disclosure Day... yeah, was disappointing. Some elements of modern UFO conspiracy theories (private corporations killing to control the technologies) woven together in a sloppy plot. I wouldn't call it bad, wasn't bored during the movie, just not a particularly fulfilling watch. 6.5/10 or so is about right.
