radiance dmg = +60 dmg per auto attacks.
radiance aura = 50 dmg per second.

Say you are next to a hero for 5 seconds, thats an extra 250~ dmg from the aura and ~240 dmg from auto attacks (of course resistance and armor not factored).

So lvl 11, you have about ~500 more dmg in 5 seconds. now factor 2 death pulses at ~275 each for ~550 dmg...Yeah major pubstomp item... Factor in a 2nd hero for fun, that one will take ~800 dmg if you remove the auto attacks. Nothing will give you that kinda stomp power on necro early on

Each kill replenishes your mana pool and gives you 240 hp + pulse heals. I dont need to survive, I need to dish out that monster damage early on. Late game I will have a heart + shiva + agh anyway to survive.

In almost all cases, 2 auto attacks a pulse and ult will be more than enough to kill anyone at the point I get radiance. Most of the time I dont even need the ult and only a 2nd pulse..

Radiance is pretty bad on weaver, if you are mid you want items that let you have impact right now, if you are offlane you are busy staying alive with tranquil/bracer/aquilla and if you have freefarm in your safelane then why are you playing weaver ? Yes, it works, but if they have 2+ stuns you will get murdered without HP item first. Stacking -armor combos with his swarm and germinate, so medallion is pretty good and I have seen EG go AC on him, which isn't all that bad if you have one more physical carry. My goto damage item is MKB, great for sieging towers after you throw the swarm to check for heroes and he already farms pretty well, so no need for radiance.

Hell there are vastly different opinions even at pro level. That's why this game is so great.

And Drow is just one of those right click champs that take no skill or farm to play well so she seems OP but she is really bad against a good team. I think she works best with a good ES that can peal for her really well.

pro level in types of games also...I've played with pro's that go pubstomp builds for fun with items you'd never them use in a pro game. I've even seen a void go support in a pro game with an agh and mek...

I find Drow horrible for lasthitting, her aura fucks up my rhythm so badly, that ranged creep will always steal hits. Yeah, having 150+ damage naked on lvl 11 is kinda weird. Her positioning needs to be flawless though and heroes like clock or storm fuck you up.

Just skip the aura on pub drow till later, Silence and max frost arrows with orb walking ruins people, aura drow is more like an antimage, she requires a lot more babysitting to get going in that kind of build.

Sorry im not a fucking pro who has been playing forever. Like i said a thousand times, I never claimed to be a pro. If my insight is subpar just fucking scroll past. I didnt know that you can only discuss the game from the highest tier perspective. Maybe someone should make 2 Dota 2 threads, so you dont have to deal with noobs like me commenting on a FUCKING GAME.

People like you are what pushes newcomers away from the game. I simply said I would prolly rather spend my coin on a rapier rather than a radiance. Wow what a fucking CRAZY comment!

Every single professional sport will ban your ass forever if you try anything similar. If players don't play to win, it makes the whole competition a joke. Did Puppey fuck up his draft, or did they bet against themselves somewhere ?

But here you are shitting up the thread with your low skill 'knowledge' and someone else comes in and has to tell you you're a fucking retard, you start arguing which shits up the thread even more. The whole 'radiance on necro' is just the latest example, there have been many more.

Well, they are my opinions. And just because Im not overly knowledgable or skilled at the game desnt mean I cant have a discussion, regardless of how misguided it is. And like I said, Im not the only one who feels like a radiance on Necro isnt worth it. Just because you do and the pub stomper dude does doesnt make it so.

And I never try to shit up threads, so again, beat it. All I d was ask Pyros what he thought about Necro, and after getting some feedback I gave my opinion. Nothing wrong with that. You are the one shitting up threads by trying to be a dick.

Anyway, this games matchmaking is weird. I swear you get bumped up in bracket level after a win streak. Same with a losing streak. If I win 6-7 games in a row i get blasted for 4-5 games. Then after losing some games in a row I rebound and win again.

edit: Also, I feel bad for you if you go through life taking every single persons opinion as "advice" lol.

to answer about the rapier: Going rapier 15 mins into the game is extremely risky even in a pubstomp... Considering even with radiance im diving towers and over extending to get kills, gifting a rapier cause an extra hero joined in unnoticed, etc...would be pretty damn bad. It's the reason no one goes rapier that early.

Drow isn't that bad but she's not OP either. She's basically a glass canon. She is THE glass canon of the game, no other heroes come close to the defition. She has no mobility, soft disables(silence with a shitty cast point and a slow that requires constant attacks) as defense, low health. She compensates with insanely high base damage, but ONLY if no one is standing next to you. You can counter the canon by just sticking "close" to her. Now yes, in certain setups, if she gets to stand still at range and pluck at you or chase you down with frost arrows, you will definitely get ass raped. This is what she does. On the other hand, if you're trying to slap her in the face with your dick, all of a sudden she's completely fucking worthless because the only dmg she does comes from her weak stats growth, her fairly weak aura without the free agi and her items.

She's a perfectly balanced hero really, maybe even a bit on the weak side. She can rape with the good conditions, the right amount of farm and good positionning, but she also can be completely fucking worthless. Want auras to push and strong base dmg? Tbh pick Luna. Now you could be crazy and pick BOTH, which is quite a ridiculous combo if you can lane them.

Also I think support drow(as 4, not 5) might have potential. 1pt aura 1pt silence max frost arrows then max aura, need your carries to be ranged though(really all the team should be to benefit fully). Interesting point is that you do pretty good dmg even with no/low items, just go treads drums or some shit. It's a bit like venomancer for the super long duration slow for early kills.

I realize that was a thought experiment Pyros, but 11%-24% slow early game doesn't really compare to Veno's 50% (and dropping) fire and forget slow, which limits her lane support ability. Her aura also depends on farm and/or her being high level to become really nasty, which probably isn't going to happen from the 4 position. Finally, unless the game goes super late, I suspect she might not even outdamage Veno's ulti if played as a support.

I'll grant you that a Drow without farm is more useful in the right team than most other low farm carries, though. I can see her being played as a 2/3 alongside something like a SF and another core that can punish the enemy team for trying to close the distance. Maybe Huskar or Puck.

SF (1) mid, Huskar(2)/Dazzle(5) hard lane, Drow(3)/Undying(4) safe lane. Double -armor and massive aura, huskar to initiate safely with shallow grave, no one can run from drow+tombstone. New meta 2013. Who needs stuns anyway?
