Know of any good reads to get into this game?

I tried finding one for myself but they are either lengthy reads or even lengthier youtubes, so I just learned the game (bishop atm)

Based on Drodo's version:

- try to avoid rerolling, this is very important because:
- you get 1 interest for every 10 gold you have banked, so you want 50 gold banked to get the +5 (max) bonus asap;
- you need to assemble enough of the same class / race to get bonuses, some are better then others, but a bunch of synergies will beat a single strong one;
- early in the game try to check what opponents are fielding and avoid it, pieces are from a mutual pool so targeting stuff which multiple others are playing is bad;
- the shit you buy in rounds 1-2 isn't important, since in round 3 you can sell it all to field something else, which most likely will give you better options;
- you get 1-3 bonus gold for a winning or losing streak, try not to break a losing streak unless you can sustain a winning streak after, going win-loss-win-loss is terrible for income;
- at lvl 4, 5 and 6 leveling the courier is a good option, above those levels it is costly and the extra piece doesn't matter as much;

If you are in a game with a lot of people saving money, it can be worth it to spend your gold and go agressive, while you won't be able to beat every player, aggressive play can get you to a 4th spot in this scenario.

Hope this helps.

This is the basics and good solid general advice.

Been playing this along with TFT. This is definitely the more casual version, great for learning autochess. It's much more straightforward (especially in terms of items), you can play with bots, pause turns, etc. Great for when I am at work and I can just play hard bots or whatever and get distracted but then come back and play for 10 seconds. I also like the guaranteed item with every creep wave, the RNG in TFT on creep waves feels like garbage, especially in TFT where items are much more nuanced and crucial to winning. Items can be stacked in TFT, but cannot be moved without selling the unit. Here you can move the items freely, great for learning.

Balance can be fixed but at least the core game is solid and portable.

I played this for about 6 hours last night for the first time to try and give it a good go, but the RNG is just such a turn off. After I figured out the synergies then it was pretty much guaranteed 1st/2nd if I had luck on my side. Makes it so unappealing.

It would be even more boring to play the same game over and over without forcing you to adapt to your situation. I'd say it's no different than hearthstone or poker's RNG. They just need the balance to allow multiple strategies and win conditions to allow adaptation.

Same shit as MTG and poker, everyone has to deal with RNG, the people that consistently top events are simply better at dealing with it.

The game doesn't have the depth of MTG or Poker though. Go warrior then build your team into either hunter or mage depending on what's available and congrats you are going to get top 3 unless you're playing with your eyes closed. Though I did get a 3 star slark w/ that 80% attack speed item in one game and he basically carried solo which was pretty funny.

Except if people are also going hunter or mage that limits your options and sometimes you roll with what you're given or you choose to contest the hunter/mage.

Once you start working your way up the ladder you will be playing against people who know what they're doing as well.

This is why I regularly go druid. Upgraded treant protector is a top tier tank, lone druid summon has 2k hp with taunt.

Gave it a try. Was pretty dominating with the two knights also protecting the hunters. I also rerolled at least 50 times trying to get a third medusa by the end with no luck.

I cruised to Boss level playing druids, hunters, and knights in various configurations...But I hit a real wall at Boss. The competition is really tighter and I've gone from always first/second to fighting to be in the top 4. It was nice to actually have some challenge. btw, is there a better reward than smuggler at lvl 2?

Druid is the go to right now. Tree tank is almost unbeatable in any situation.

I've played a few more games and stopped running them. They scale badly with items.

SS below; I started out with Tiny, who is a good tank with an AE stun that is overpowered, and has an extremely good synergy. I got a second primordial and went all out trolls shortly after.

Even though I never got Tiny to 3 stars, thanks to him proccing stun on melee attacks and his ability (AE stun on a T1 unit, again, seems fair), he served as a top tank until the very last round.

Troll warlords, the troll attack speed synergy bonus, and some +ATK damage items are insanely strong. Off the 3 regular trolls, 2 provide CC (hex and AE stun), and the bat knight is another unit that scales very well with attack speed and damage.

I lost some rounds to nerds spending all their money early, the game ended on round 36, with me at the same 66 hp as I was at round 8ish. Lost one wave due to fielding 6/8 pieces, was overconfident.

Added Doom in the end to spend some money and because I like him.

Try this build if RNG is willing. Don't reroll to do so, if you can get Tiny and a second primordial early, you are set defensively to hoard gold.

Swear I've had an easier time against people than the AI so far. Also game runs like ass on my phone, sticking purely to iPad and PC.

I've heard various things and while it isn't perfect on phones it really depends on the CPU power. Even some older phone with good CPUs can handle it while some newer phones with shit CPUs can't. Definitely still needs some optimizing though.
