Reading the last few pages since I woke up, it seems like a lot of people may be under the wrong assumption that it was the board that was sold to MMORPG.com. It was the Junkies shit, and the forums just happened to come with it. That should be what gives everyone the kick in the head to realize we're on borrowed time. They didn't buy out Draegan in hopes of monetizing these forums. They couldn't give less of a shit about these forums.

From the sounds of how long it took to get this shit migrated (look back to the last few weeks of all the problems we've had), I doubt they'd care enough to sell it off and try to migrate it away. It likely also means trying to figure out how to separate it from all the Junkies bullshit that Draegan tried to integrate.

He may have rolled all the site data into one total. The junkies sites look like the valuable asset and domain names, but he probably fluffed their value with our web traffic.

They will be in for a shocking realization that the predominant source of traffic in the junkies network has very little MMO value these days. Not to say the MMO section isn't busy, but its hardly the majority of content on these forums.

That should be the biggest concern, if MMORPG.com looks at the data and sees the bandwidth/legal risks this forum bring to the table with little added value to their bottom line they will probably be quick to shutter it.

Shutter it without warning either is what I'm afraid of the most. We have a window to get most of the people over to a new site which is in the control of our community. We may not get that window in the future again.

Draegan should be concerned that he doesn't wind up being sued for peddling a false bill of goods if he was using this site's metrics to beef up the metrics of his junkies/rerollz media sites.

I'm telling you something smells really fishy about that shit, and I wouldn't put it past Draegan and Teljair to pull some stinky shit like that to offload the site at a marginal profit so they can tell themselves it wasn't a total loss.

Shouldn't this be stickied in all major forums here? Also still waiting on mods like tuco to give a consensus opinion. So far have only heard from tuco and it was hedging. Are we staying here and registering there to be safe ? Are we all just gonna move their now? Worried the indecision will fracture the community. Maybe we need a badass poll

tuco is on the wait and see side of the argument. everyone seems to think these mmorpg guys will try to hose this forum. i dunno about that, but i am positive that we are on borrowed time.
