I got turned off from choice in DA2 because every choice I made was an obvious illusion. The worst offense of them all was when I was pro-mage the entire game and the grandmaster wizard or whatever goes insane for 0 reason as if I was repressing him the entire game.
I guess you didn't follow his response to much - he was flipping out about being repressed, not at you explicitly - I don't like the characterization, but they explained it in the dialogue that he basically snapped lashing out.

That scene made more sense if you sided with the templars. And why wouldn't you? Every mage in that game was a cunt.

Installing DA2 now. Just to be green I recycled the Amazon box to put the pipe bombs I'm sending to Vex in if it is awful! <3

Well ... fuck.

The game wouldn't get more than a few sec into the begining video before crashing. When I tried to change video settings it crashed. So I went for new video drivers which puked and murdered my computer.

Now I am unable to play anything.

This pipebomb for Vex isn't big enough!!!

Don't get sucked back in! The only good thing to come out of DA2 was the Destiny trailer, party banter, and the cracks in Sean's credibility.

Your list may differ.

The only redeeming factor of DA2 is it has the only, as far as I can recall that is, actual moral choice quandary I've ever come across in a bioware game and you don't know you've done it until long after you made the choice. Sean knows what I'm talking about as he was fucking devastated when it happened and whined about it for like an hour on IRC.

Hrm...which is that? Only thing I can really think of gave you no choice.

Investigating that crazy murderer, who you don't completely follow through on then he kills your mother, and then even later finding out Orsino was helping his ass.

And man Zhaun, maybe your comp just fucking blows!

As far as the whole first enchanter going crazy, yea I don't understand why he would. I mean, ok, I get that he's repressed, and that templars are assholes (Although in my heart I was always pro templar) but the most vaunted person in the entire city has your god damn back, so wtf?

I found it really hard to side with any mages when they were always becoming blood mages.

At one point Merrith makes a comment that the veil is thin in Kirkwall, which is why there's a higher tendency of crazy shit and murderers etc going on, but it was just fucking bollocks that even if they did get a shitty slice of life their only solution is blood magic. Bitch, my mage playthrough was spirit healer and i fucked SHIT UP. Well, not really, but I guess the specific gear I was wearing plus the self only healing regen was percentile, so she was actually my tank because she would instant heal everything, even on the hardest setting. Except for that one encounter in mota, when you click on the altar. THAT asshole scorched her.

Yay got it working! Both my computer and DA2.

I liked the little intro thing. Now I'm going to reroll 30 times to decide what character I want to play >.<

Yeah, I don't remember a single choice (besides picking templars or mages) in DA2 that doesn't merge back to the same path eventually.

I also don't recall it having any bugs either. Just a few poor design decisions and a whole lot of bad writing.

Pretty sure that still happens no matter what route you take. Yet again.

Yeah, it doesn't matter what you do, every single fucking outcome ended up the same. The writing in the third act was somewhat tolerable if you sided with the Templars though. Their paranoia was completely justified. Meredith was fucking right, she went too far when driven crazy by the idol thing (which wasn't really her own fault), but she was still acting in the best interests of everyone and the actions of the the local mage population backed that up.

There were blood mages around every fucking corner. No matter what you did, some mage and blood magic came back to bite you in the ass no matter how well you treated them. Even with your own mage party members, your own mages do god damned stupid shit. Your own mother gets murdered because lol blood mages and Orsino fucking covers all that shit up and knew it was going on.

I think the only mage who didn't do something absolutely retarded was Bethany, who thankfully still stays with you if you side with the Templars.

What about Ser Looking-for-a-good-time-before-rotting-in-the-circle?

Or "The Dreamer" ??

or the kid that turns himself in when you assist with bringing in the renegades from the cave?
