Move is the wrong word, I did a fresh install on my SSD after installing windows etc on a new SSD.

Oh, so you did a fresh install of Windows and now the game is running like shit. Obviously a driver problem.
Check for unknown devices in device manager, and make sure every component has the newest drivers...

Not to derail further but my SSD is plugged into my 6GB port on myMotherboards - P8Z77-V DELUXE - ASUS
is there a better place to install it?

There's 2x grey, 4x blue and 2x navy blue ports. It needs to be in the grey ports for peak speed. Those are the Intel standard chipset 6gb ports, the third party ports (the 2x navy blue ones) kinda suck. I usually disable them in BIOS and then don't even install the driver for them if I don't need them.
DVD drive/traditional mechanical hard drives can go in any of the 4x blue ports.

It is indeed in the 4X blue port(per instructions the SSD/motherboard came with), weird that 2X is faster than 4x for SSD. Pro, thanks.

When I say 2x or 4x I mean the quantity of sockets of that color on the motherboard.
When you look at the spec sheet you get:
Intel? Z77 chipset :
2 x SATA 6Gb/s port(s), gray
4 x SATA 3Gb/s port(s), blue
Marvell? PCIe 9128 controller :
2 x SATA 6Gb/s port(s), navy blue
Which is telling me the grey ones are the native 6gb ports.

I tend to get up to date every 4 years when I want a new computer, I learn about motherboards, ram, GPU/CPUs etc then build the best bang for your buck computer I can while about once a year I upgrade the graphics card. This is no longer a valid option with how fast computers change on levels I will never fully understand.
Anyways I am about 20 hours into my second restart as a Qu-mage, I really dig all the mage/qunari subtle changes as it makes me feel more involved with the mage vs templar stuff. I did make the mistake of going female though, ALL the animations are clearly manish in the cutscenes. Sitting down with my legs wide apart elbow on one knee all like hey gurrrrrl when I hit on some one does not go well at all, time for restart number three.

Its 18:30 here (euroland), and I can see two challenges; kill 100 enemies with staves, kill 100 with axes, both have a chest as reward.
Doesn't seem worthwhile at first sight, will report back later.

Yeah, that seems thin, I've been in there all morning and just noticed that after your post. That almost looks like a trial run / test of some sort rather than a serious event, heh.
I'm usually not one to care much about graphics of games as gameplay, character development and itemization is what makes me tick but the game definitely looks nice. Something even better though that doesn't get much discussion is the music. Again something I don't worry much about but I just love there use of music to set the mood. The song right when they get together right before skyhold (night is dark I think) then building into you being made the leader of the inquisition had me feeling like I was in the middle of braveheart.

I like the music but there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the musical entrances. Also, banter has really picked up since leaving The Hinterlands which is nice. I was paranoid that I had the banter bug that many people are experiencing.

So anyone else playing a dual sword rogue? Should i go all in on dex or a mix in of willpower or cunning? I think I am going assassin when i get there. I haven't seen much theroycraft on the game so far. I have been making daggers with dex and armor penetration as i can. I just found a double blade schematic with a grip
Has there been an update/patch lately? I've crashed around 5-6 times today. Not the freeze that can happen in cut scenes that requires closing the program from the application menu. Now it randomly exists to Origin, no error message or anything, no lag, just closes in less than a second. Its been extremely stable overall, but now it behaves like Skyrim with too many mods.
