Always put your base console on a rock or terrain if possible - the game doesn't warn you if deleting a building piece will destroy the console
Is this a problem if, say, you build a subfief create a raised foundation, delete said subfief, replace the new subfief on the previously built foundations (for a better grid without wasted space below the surface) and then just simply move the subfief again before tearing down the built foundations?

Godspeed on reading and comprehending what I just wrote!

It’s only a problem if you delete a building piece your subfief console is sitting on and supported by, since it gives no warning that deleting the building piece will destroy the console. You can do your trick just fine, just move your permanent console to a safer spot after you finish your land plot placement

Keep in mind that deleting your subfief deletes any staking claims you've added to it as well, even if you instantly replace it.

So i lost my base making tool is there a way to get another one lol

If you've had one, you have the schematic already to make it. So hit tab, go to crafting at the top, and 20 salvaged metal to make another (per wiki - Construction Tool | Dune Awakening Wiki)

Oh, not tab, I for inventory or whatever you've used to open your UI, then crafting, and it'll be under the first/fourth section:

How did you guys progress base-wise across the map? I married the first open patch I could see basically, and think it's time to establish at least a mining outpost west/ northwest as I need more and more steel / crystal. Or should I be thinking bigger?

I recognize making my base way down here wasn't ideal in hindsight... I really didn't consume a lot of media going into this and a lot of 'ideal' bases are north of this screenshot even - especially once you're flying. Feel like it's time to setup more of a base north / northwest, because otherwise this buggy isn't going to last long, going to get eaten like a moron sooner rather than later. Largely playing solo, but am still trying to entice a couple more friends to join the other couple who are in or barely left Hagga South and don't play as much.

Otherwise, going to be spending a lot of time traversing the southern outcroppings going back and forth. Though, if the buggy mines so much, I wonder how many trips I'll even need before I'm on to aluminum.

Our first base was next to the Anvil outpost.

Then I moved to a much larger base at the border between Eastern Shield Wall, Mysa Tarill, Western Vermullius Gap, and Jabal (basically right next to the 7th trial cave). This is basically the very NW corner of your map.

Recently built what should be my last base in Basin at the very northern border of Eastern Shield Wall.

I also have a little outpost for Jasmium, although I can hopefully do one last big run of it and never need more Jasmium again.

I have a jasmium buggy garage also, but im thinking of scrapping it so I can have 2 bases in deep desert - one in pve area and one in PvP. Having one in the PvP area would at least make it easier to gather small batches of ore and store them so I can haul a large batch out later. I’d just need to layer the base interior so it can survive raids after a sandstorm

Hard to see because of the storm, but heres my base I've been working on. I'm north of Pinnical, near the map edge. If I need to get jasmium, I just zone out and then zone back in on the south west of Hagga and mine up a couple loads. Only takes like 20min to get two full loads.

We've been mostly on a private server, but the early adopters weren't really willing to start over, so we've kind of slowly drifted back to public.

I'm using my public character as a challenge thing. Mainly I only get one life, but I was thinking of trying a no murder run (if that is even possible). It has been fun, I tried out swordmaster (it was awful), and ended up going back to rifles :D

My ancient I5 / 1080 struggles around big bases and the popular spots are choked with corridor clogging bases.

After my 3rd character I figured out that the makeup strength/density setting is bugged and I end up looking like a slattern in game.

Also, laziest radiation implementation I've seen in a game. At least do a geiger counter sound.

Everyone is dicksucking Funcom for these changes, but I'm still pretty hesitant to see how they implement it. They really want the PVP to be a thing, but the game loop isn't there, and they're still not talking about it.

If you're a PVE player, there needs to be some kind of reason to engage in PVP. Saying "high risk high reward!" to go into the PVP areas isn't it. Because most people are risk averse. If just engaging in PVP (not necessarily winning the encounter) gave some kind of actual benefit, you might see people do it. As is, the gameplay loop is still avoiding PVP. Yeah, you go to the PVP area, but your goal isn't PVP. And even the people engaging in PVP don't actually have an incentive to do so. There's no reward for them either, except for shitting on other people's gameplay.

I've read lots of comments from PVP'ers saying "well if you're PVE you don't need T6 items." Uh, what the fuck does anyone need T6 items for? By that argument, PVE players didn't need T2 or T3 or T4 items either. May as well just not play, because it's all just pixels and useless! T6 is just another progression to the game. Why it needs to be gatekept behind people who got there first and want to ruin it for people uninterested in PVP is baffling to me.

The pvp is just a shitty flight sim with a dune skin. I have yet to have a ground fight that uses the skills that I built up playing the game. There's not even a pilot skill tree. The pvp seems the most tacked on thing in a video game ever. No thought to it what so ever.

Yeah I love sniping. The shield melee guys suck especially if you get more than 1. So I am landing my chopper at good height elevation to the base - I just got "The Long Shot" from a quest which does over 200DPS one shot, and I snipe the base from a far and those shield melee guys get their asses kicked with one shot before they can flip on their shields. Then I go in and clean up.

My buddy and I are in the Duraluminum stage now and are farming a lot of it to get to the next stage to gear up for desert. Close to 70 hours played and still have a ton to do like unlock all my skill sets still and go through the final stages of the rep story and main quest line. Still having a blast - if end game sucks I still had a great time for $50 bucks. We can just log in and maintain the base and pay taxes and log out for another 2 weeks :p

The skill tree quest lines and factions give some nice rewards at the end, like the Thurfir’s best sniper rifle which I think is probably one of the most powerful sniper rifles in the game. I bought a schematic off the market eventually so I could repair it lol

Deep Desert just before reset was pretty quiet late at night, probably because people had moved out all their stuff and the PvP zone bases were all abandoned or looted. I probably got 20k spice sand and a few thousand ore before I went to bed using my half busted assault thopter I use as a hauler

Finally went to the actual Deep Desert (not just the wrecks and labs in row A). I've got to say, all my gnashing about PVP is misguided. The real problem with the Deep Desert is it's boring as fuck.

Like, holy shit, I'd read about people flying a lot, but I wasn't really appreciating it. I just wanted some spice and had to fly all the way out to row H to find some. Gathered about 2k, worm appeared, waited a bit, gathered another 2k...and then fly all the fucking way back.

This is their great concept for endgame? Fighting over meaningless empty desert?

I wish the end game had a lot more PVE content - what is the compelling reason to farm t6 materials? To be able to look cooler? I already smoke all the pve content and the pvp I've engaged in is aids copter gank bs. I loved the run up to end game, base building, scavenging etc. I just wish there was something more (raids/dungeons/bosses/whatever to give me a reason to gear up). Still, great freakin game for 60 hours.

Their loop is basically the landsraad system. Which is handing in or bribing house reps to win them over and get the whole row, so your faction gets a bonus for a week. Sure the bonus are really nice, but I just cant see it lasting long. It basically comes down to 5 weekly quests you do, and you spend the week mass gathering/crating things to turn in. Then just do it all over again.

I am almost done. I am at 100 hours atm, so probably another 10-20. Around the middle of what I guessed before launch of 100-150hours, before I was done.

How does one engage in the Landsraad system? I feel like there is a ton of shit I'm just flat out missing. Is there a bread crumb quest leading to that I missed?
