At least they didn't push it to the quicksand, that would have been pretty trivial to do.

My prev character died in a story mission vs the massive carrot gang, so I restarted trying a non murder character. I've survived to around 20 or so but it is getting really slow to level.

I've found a few chests I can loot without fighting, and was making money selling vehicle fuel to get enough to go back north. It is doable but boring, and you won't really be able to train beyond your initial level 1 stuff. I did Benny Jezzarite or whatever.

I did get through (I think) all of the fremen stuff. None of it made any sense at all. Some bits of the trial were a slideshow. 2-4 fps.

Dogshit bug in this game

I tore down my large spice refiner so I could start pulling down my base in anticipation of the DD reset. I fly to Arakeen village to deposit the 500 spice, then notice it isn't in my character's bag (along with other random shit). I zoned a bunch of times, logged out and in, nothing.

That is a fucking bullshit bug - I lost an entire week of work to it

yeah its there but you can't see it if it's in your thopter storage. You'll have to fly back to hagga and hold E to take it out. You'll notice you have the spice in your inventory. keep it in your personal inventory if you can. Also this is how everyone is duping items. They haven't fixed it. It's fucked.

The spice was in my personal inventory, not the thopter. The thopter inventory was fine, zoning into Arakeen deleted most of what was in my backpack

Well Funcom are officially dumbfucks

Hotfix today, without warning, put a control point in a heavily used PVE section of deep desert (D6). As a result, all bases there are now PVP flagged, so all the PKers/gankers/exploiters are raiding and looting them.

They also increased the transition from PVP to PVE from 5 to 30 seconds, meaning if you're being chased you're still not safe in PVE for half a minute

Between this crap and my stuff getting deleted, I am this close to just logging in only to fuel my base only until they get their fucking shit together

Yeah, I've been doing the 1/week login for fuel/taxes until new content. Game's economy is pretty fucked at this point.

That's pretty funny. I put my base on the D6 island because it was next to a large spice crater.

A day later I decided I was done with the game and tore it down.

Reading the subreddit for this game it seems like Tuesday or Wednesday of this week the game really fell apart. Inventory bugs with shit disappearing, more hackers and now this.

I had fun, but I'm glad I got my playtime in early.

I've put 85 hours into this, and haven't even been to the deep desert, lol. Just gave my friends notice that I need that OG fief console so I can start messing w/ deep desert stuff (have a northern base and a shack in Shaol).

I do wish I could privately host this stuff so that I could just put it away and not have to login to keep stuff powered when I do finally decide to stop actively playing.

I expect we'll get that, in a content update or two, when there is more alternatives for progression through the tiers potentially, so that a dedicated server just omits the deep desert as it exists now.

I'd be fine quitting right now and starting over on my own hosted server even if I was just limited to Hagga Basin and the major cities or the need to go to those cities was accommodated in that single map.

I really enjoyed the story once I got past the mystical sandy mumbo jumbo.

Also I tried again with swords and really enjoy it now. There's some sort of instant I-win-button enemies can do sometimes that I haven't figured out yet where your shield goes down and all your stamina is gone and you are snared. But I guess that's the rock/paper/scissors stuff. When I gunned I didn't even know there was stamina.

With guns your you-lose moment is really just a shield melee getting close. It's kinda over if they decide to juggle you endlessly.

Could they have made stamina any more confusing? There's a bar, then another bar, then yet another bar for "power"? I have no idea. Then 4 little boxes that sometimes have colours in them? What kind of playstation smooth brain made this UI?

50% PVE in Deep Desert!

Seeing it on sale for ~43, a month out (only a ~12% drop but it's a start)

I really hope that nobody is confused about Funcom fucking things up repeatedly, when examples exist of why those things will fuck up and have for multiple years at this point. AoC was basically trash after you left Tortuga, and CE needed (and still needs... haha) multiple iterations before it became fun let alone something worth playing. I only briefly got on the AO train and never the SW stuff, but they have had a pretty solid 50% "no clue what the fuck we are doing" track record over the years.

Sword master hydration bonus perk is nice and available early - if you stay topped up on water, you get a huge stamina bonus

Heavy armors reduce dash efficiency, which means you drain stamina faster when dodging attacks. There are some uniques that reduce even more dash costs, which helps when NPCs do that bubble aoe that drains your stamina

There is an ultimate ability in Mentat (doesn’t need spice state either) where you plop down a generator that keeps your shield constantly recharged - it can be useful in pve and has a good range and low cooldown. This is most useful against heavies or disrupters
