Playing it in bursts. A couple weeks, soon as I start to get too busy for it or something else comes out that I want to check out, I put it aside.
Once I 100% the DLC I won't have anything left that's new, so I'm in no rush for it to end, no. It took me years just to get to Dark Souls 3 because I didn't want to run out of Souls games to play (and now I've run out of Souls games to play).
Did way better with the DLC this time than I did last time, managed to beat the Guts boss and the Dancer boss (which are basically the DLC's version of Gaol bosses, I guess?)
Definitely recommend doing it on NG rather than NG++ or whatever it was before. I didn't actually hit any walls this time around with any bosses. Main goal was to fill in the map and I think I got everything except the northwest quadrant.
Yeah, I've been thinking this for a long time. Even back in the day with stuff like Link to the Past, rom-hackers have made numerous interesting sequels to that game using the assets from it. It's actually pretty weird how game companies don't do that. Like TOTK is a sequel to BOTW, but how many other console Zelda games got a sequel in their engine? Majora's Mask, I guess, that's about it.
Got Nightreign ordered, hopefully it actually arrives on day one. Not expecting much from it. Playing on PS5, will probably have to PUG.

That team's videos are amazing and really dig deep to show what is going on. The revelation that the form of Marika's betrayal could have been deduced from the beginning; as well as the fact that the identity of the body she was desecrating in the opening cutscene did not matter are huge points that they nailed with almost 100% certainty. Simply fantastic.

That really is one of the best channels out there, I wish I had more time to go through their stuff. The cool thing is that the game actually supports all of this lore. They don't even have to reach to make connections, all of this stuff is really in there if you look around and study the game world.

Played around with malenia a little tonight.
I went right from fire giant to her, so no end game talismans or much equipment. I'm in mostly bull goat but have the white mask and lord of blood exultation for my normal run around build. Blasphemous blade and sword of milos.
Blasphemous blade doesn't face tank Melania well at all. Can't heal through her waterfowl and doesn’t stun her or even hit her when she's flying.
Tried giant hunt on the greatsword and was disappointed in it. When it connects it will throw her but the tracking on it is poor and she avoids it a lot of the time.
Tried and true lions claw is really the best thing against her. It tracks her even when she is in the air or jumps behind you so it hardly ever misses her. Flattens her regularly leaving her open for big crits. Its just easy mode for any medium or small sized enemy.
Blasphemous blade is probably easier for things that don't fly or have insane dps like her, but lions claw definitely has its place as one of the most OP melee ashes. Giant hunt I was a little disappointed with.

This is true more often than people who rage at PUGs care to admit.
Most people smart and dedicated enough to play a difficult game well are smart and dedicated enough to either find good players to game with or actually enjoy carrying PUGs.
Carrying bad PUGs was my favorite passtime in Mass Effect 3's extraction multiplayer because once they all died they were forced to watch me play the game properly and I could shit talk them over my mic.

In WoW/Legion - the guys in B group with me, we would typically PUG the last spot in our mythic groups to abuse their keys and do mind numbing shit like Maw of Souls since it only took like 10 minutes to do. But the PUG's were actually the biggest, brightest light in that group for us. We were all bros, but on your 50th run of Maw of Souls - the general attitude was "kill me now." So picking on them, or if theyre cool, shooting the shit with them - was great. I typically love fresh blood coming into my groups if I have the appropriate expectations for what Im trying to achieve.

I meticulously learned her moveset over ~3 hours to where I barely got hit. On subsequent playthrough she still takes me easily an hour to get the rhythm back.
