Microsoft are getting utterly, irredeemably trounced in the console space. This next console may very well be the last one. That's why you are seeing "Everything is an Xbox!" campaigns spin up. GamePass isn't growing; making respectable money but not for what they spent on it and what they *continue* to spend on it.
Kinda sad that their big plan was Sega Channel

This Game is going likely to be woke very likely even,as Bethesda changed dramatically since Skyrim and they are very committed to DEI.
Anyway modern games don't really get me excited at all so I wait and see what politics will be pushed this time around in the upcoming game.
But hey maybe I am somehow wrong and Bethesda gets there boyfriends dick out of there ass and can actually do some good shit again.

"Are you man or women? M'aiq believes gender is on a spectrum."
"Do you have a husband or wife? M'aiq can't choose. This one will never judge and always respect your choices."
"M'aiq thinks the Orange one should die."

Bar could not be set any lower and Bethesda will still underperform.

It's wasn't a bad idea, per se, but like so many people in the streaming space found out, its hard to duplicate that First Mover advantage without a significant value add/upgrade. Microsoft has divided loyalties that keep crippling its efforts: Between PC and Console with PC and Xbox, and even in Xbox between the X and the S this last gen. I find it super hard to believe but the numbers bear out that people have never forgiven MS after the Xbox One debacle vs PS4. GamePass seems like a great deal on its face and I continue to pay for it but I hardly use it at all. If I turned it off I wouldn't miss it at all.

Was that last one actually in the game? Da fuq?

I really enjoyed oblivion and Skyrim. Never finished main quest in Skyrim oddly enough

Time to get the series done!

I'm (tentatively, which means 30% chance I have time for it) planning to finally play Skyrim in November (11/11 onward) to simulate the time period when people played it originally. It's very much a "winter game". Was in the latter stages of school at the time and all I heard about from friends in that 2011/2012 winter session was Skyrim. Meanwhile I was out chasing skirts and playing through the Mass Effect duogy for the first time to prepare for being disappointed by ME3 in March.

I never played the other big game from that month either, Zelda: Skyward Sword.

Just imagine flying at hyper pixilated foes in the skies, worthless dungeon items, and the most wiimote of waggles while battling super homosexuals

Skryim is definitely worth playing even if it has less depth than the earlier titles. It's very atmospheric and definitely scratches that exploration itch. Music is great too. Get the Special Edition version for improved graphics.

Only mod I would 100% not go without is SkyUI. It beats some of the consolitis out of the interface, it's very cumbersome otherwise. Unofficial patch is good too but it has some minor autism spergouts in it, the game has been patched by Bethesda quite a bit over the year and it's quite functional without it now.

90 minute dive into autist spergouts and pissing contests.

Bethesda Celebrates 7th Anniversary of Elder Scrolls VI Development, 50% of Dev Team Has Swapped Genders Since Announcement

ROCKVILLE, MD — Bethesda Softworks held a celebratory event this week marking the 7th anniversary of the official announcement of The Elder Scrolls VI, a game that remains in the development phase so long it now qualifies for AARP benefits. Amid cheers, speeches, and a surprise performance by a bard singing "Rains of Cyrodiil," the studio revealed that half the development team has changed genders since the project began.

"We're proud of the progress we’ve made," said Todd Howard, still somehow both the face of the franchise and the only person who knows where the game files are stored. "Not on the game itself, obviously, but on personal growth and diversity metrics."

Attendees were treated to a timeline of key milestones in development, including:

  • 2018: Game announced via a JPEG of some mountains
  • 2020: Project enters “conceptual vision board” stage
  • 2021: First in-office debate on whether horses should have pronouns
  • 2023: The Argonian character designer transitions into a Khajiit
  • 2024: Internal build reaches stable 3 FPS on a NASA supercomputer

Developers at the event shared stories of their personal journeys alongside the game's journey through the void.

“It’s been an incredible ride,” said Lead Environment Artist Alex/Alexa (depending on the Slack username that day). “When I started, I was a man, Skyrim was still getting new DLC, and we were just arguing over whether to include loot boxes. Now, I’m a woman, Skyrim is playable on thermostats, and we’re still arguing about loot boxes.”

Bethesda assured fans that Elder Scrolls VI remains in "active development"—a phrase legally distinct from "being made"—and promised to release another breathtaking 12-second teaser trailer sometime before the heat death of the universe.

Howard concluded the event with his trademark confidence: “It just works… eventually.”

I don't use AI/Chat GPT much for writing; I don't have much use for it but I gave it the prompt to "write a Babylon Bee Style announcement for the 7th anniversary of development where 50% of developers had switched genders" and that was it produced. Holy crap, it fairly well slaps. All hail the overlords and the coming tyranny of the talentless.

I'm surprised how many people are ok with Sony shitting all over them this gen after how terribly it went for MS last gen.

Beyond that, I think one of the biggest issues with Game Pass is how almost all of the day one highly anticipated games have been somewhere between total dogshit and "meh".

"Day One Game Pass" is almost a badge of shame at this point, outside of rare exceptions like Expedition 33. Honestly can't think of anything outside of that and Lies of P in the last couple of years

The waggle-motion controls really pissed me off when I did try to play Skyward Sword. I tapped out during the bird flight section because the motion controls were so unbelievably bad during that part.

Would it kill Nintendo to just make a really powerful system that doesn't have Waggle-Motion or Dongle-Integration or any other gimmicks
