And this is what you want from EQN as well?Itzena, Defias Brotherhood.
But I've already said I'm too lazy to do anything more than LFR.![]()

Sucker bet because EQN should be running quests entirely differently than either WoW, LOTRO or EQ. You may chat up a guy who wants some goblins killed then when you go kill the goblins you find out the guy wants you to kill them so he can get their land. How much you wanna bet they will have tasks/quests like this in EQ3?![]()
I'd say just take the quest completely out and give the goblins in the area an X% chance to drop whatever reward the quest was going to give. Or if it's a really good reward, then an X% chance that a goblin chief/king/leader will spawn with its own loot table instead of one of the goblin minions.I also liked in EQ how quest items dropped regardless if you had the quest or not, so then you had to investigate WTF the item was for. As for tasks, like killing 20 goblins, I like how other games handled it. You entered the area and a quest would automatically pop up for you to kill xx goblins, and once completed it would auto grant you the reward, exp, whatever.
Najena was my first corpse recovery when joining the Mac server. I fell through the floor, ended up in the cell, and absolutely fought until it was just too much to handle. It took a group effort to even get remotely close and finally a friendly high level druid came by and assisted us. I couldn't even remember a time in the past 4-5 years where something like this happen. I would like to see things like this come back. It was frustrating but I had a great time with it.It was Najena. You fall in to a prison cell. Chardok also had fake floors which were deadlier. So did other places like Lower Guk but you just fell on spikes and some spiders.
And don't waste your time discussing things with DMK, he is just stupid and a waste of time.
didn't befallen in the commons have a trap floor as well? i remember falling into that dungeon and someone from the outside had to let you out or you had to kill someone to get the key to get out. good times. it's amazing that shit like that that was in a game almost 15 years ago hasn't made its way into another game since.Najena was my first corpse recovery when joining the Mac server. yes it did. take the first door on the right down the hallway, bang a left and you're in deep shit.Pretty sure befallen did. Met a guy who died down there and needed help recovering lol.
My first character was a human necro out of Qeynos. Spent hours just trying to find my guildDid anyone else grow up in Qeynos/Surefall glade? I feel like everyone was centered in EC on near every server. Though to be honest, Rodcet Nife's market was focus in Gfay for a very long time.
My first character was a human wizard. I got to like level 12 and fell down that fucking hole in befallen and was like "welp that's the end of this character". Luckily I just joined a guild and a level 50 shadowknight troll got my corpse back for me. The level of hopelessness I felt after that death was just awesome.didn't befallen in the commons have a trap floor as well? i remember falling into that dungeon and someone from the outside had to let you out or you had to kill someone to get the key to get out. good times. it's amazing that shit like that that was in a game almost 15 years ago hasn't made its way into another game since.

Sad that a joke seems to represent so accurately where we are heading.

I would totally buy old EQ gnome, ogre and troll models in the EQN store....
My friend and I had a simialr experience in kaesora. Near the entrance there was a pit you can fall down to a point that is somewhat deep into the dungeon. We were convinced there was no possible way we would ever get our stuff back, but we managed find higher level Paladin and druid using /who all to clear the area (with our help using backup gear from the bank) We were finally able to loot our main gear at like 2am. Overall, it was a pretty harrowing experience, but that zone turned out to be one of my favorites when I was later able to clear down and fight xalgoz for the charasis key quest. My first character was a human wizard. All the people saying that since it is a sandbox, it should not have quests. I'll skim through later to find the direct offenders, but they exist in this thread and in others whenever the word "SANDBOX" is pulled out. Then there's the guy who only wants one quest in the game, where if you click the ? it installs WoW on your HD. This was back before you started posting again, though. The point of my last two posts, is that there are quite a few more ways to implement the idea of quests than simply taking WoW and making it the same. Or taking EQ's shitinterface version of questing and slapping a graphics update. Lots of middle ground that can appease more than just neckbeards OR just casuals. And I was praising that people have warmed up to the potential to do more than has already been done, which on the previous board and this one to an extent the response is usually "Lol quests r gay go play WoW" or similar nonsense or "lol go grind mobs quests r gr8" stupidity. Games may contain binary, but the implementation of ideas doesn't have to be.Who?
