Your boxing problem didn’t appear overnight. It’s being enabled by tools and plugins circulating in the MQ2 community, and one person in particular,
Secrets, is behind a huge part of it along with others.
He sold a clean hardware ID spoofer for MQ2 (“MQ2HWID”), not junk like Spiken’s, but a fully functional Truebox bypass. Armies of players used it for
5+ years without suspension, as long as they avoided other hacks. Daybreak’s TLP Truebox 1 client per PC login checks are limited to MAC addresses, and this plugin simply spoofs a hardware ID for each session. Detectable? Sure. Are they doing anything about it? Not at all.
I have receipts of Secrets personally pitching this bypass in DMs. Sharing them would risk outing my source, so no, you won’t see them here. Believe it or don’t, I don’t care.
Now here’s the part that should
shock a few people:
- Secrets monetizes Project Quarm, giving select players items and advantages for money, and lowkey funnels more people to his project where he can profit directly by making moves that help make TLPs and other EMUs worse for players.
- Secrets directly reported THJ to Daybreak, triggering the lawsuit and threatening a beloved EMU server. THJ was getting too much of the pie for him to let it keep going. Secrets didn’t just manipulate classic EQ, he actively attacked another server to protect his own interests.
People like Secrets manipulate classic EQ for their own gain, all while pointing fingers at everyone else. If you want to blame someone for the “death by a thousand cuts” impacting TLP servers, focus on those actually profiting from your misery. Secrets is just one of many.
Fangbreaker’s failure was partially Daybreak’s fault for not enforcing their own rules, and they will bear the financial consequences, but there are other forces acting behind the scenes, pretending to be benevolent, who are the real root of the problems these servers face.
When leaders like Zaide and other big guild figures quit, they take entire communities with them. It’s not for lack of trying to fight the behind-the-scenes goof-fuckery either, the conversations some of the guild leaders have had with Daybreak might shock you. Daybreak is coming off borderline incompetent and they need a massive restructure of the team to fix this at this point. When big guilds and big communities start taking off, Daybreak should be paying far more attention than they are.
Believe what you want, but start recognizing some of the names who are truly behind all your misery.
