Yes but Vaniki also launched with Yelinak.

Not that Yelinak was super popular.

So Fangbreaker peaked at about 2200 players tonight far below oakwynd, yelinak, aradune, manger first day server releases.

Oakwynd was at server cap the first day about 5000
Yelinak was at server cap also the first day about 4500
Aradune was at cap (server kept crashing) 4000 players (Even with 750 on the 2nd new server Rizlona)
Mangler was at cap about 4000 players (Even with 600 on the 2nd new server Selo)

its really not a good start for Fangbreaker.

Ouch. Guess we saw this coming, though.
Combination of general tlp fatigue, an underwhelming ruleset, plus all the other options out there for the TLP crowd - Teek, other TLPs still doing decent numbers, emus, the "EQlikes" Pantheon in EA , MnM and AoA on the horizon...

Compare that to even just 3 years ago, when Mischief/TB was still going strong and Vaniki launched alongside it, vanilla ass Yelinak was able to pull more than double the numbers of Fangbreaker?! Woof.

I bet that 2200 number would have been a lot higher if they included Vaniki style double loot.

I had a mage on my second monitor while i raided on Teek for like 3 hours yesterday.

It was actually comical. There was a GM outside of Neriak just waiting for 6 boxers to log in, must have banned/suspended 100+ accounts in that time.

What he forgets to mention is those numbers are higher than Ragefire/LJ, Rizlona and any of the servers that didn't limit boxing.
They're also higher then Solo, Quarm, Vaniki and all the other "special" servers beside Mischief/Teek.
Two box limit carrying so hard that even half a year of Luclin is appealing to half the playerbase.

No chance they’re higher than Ragefire. The rest I believe because all those servers sucked balls.

Aradune had a 2box limit and it pulled far better numbers. Dont get me wrong the 2box limit is certainly harmful to a servers population but the vast majority of the reduced population on Fangbreaker is due to the weird level locking.

Aradune was the covid server. Whatever server with the more popular ruleset released at that time was going to be a success. Rizlona being tacit hacking approval was not it, so, aradune was. The 2boxing was hardly the cause of its draw.

It was my brothers birthday yesterday, and he loves playing classic EQ. So, we made characters on Fangbreaker. It was insanely empty. I couldn't even fill a group for orc hill in Greater Faydar the whole time we were there. This server is DOA.

This server looks good once Feb 5, 2026 comes around and PoP is unlocked. Although it's unclear to me if the level cap increases. It reads as though it will basically be a normal server once PoP unlocks, just with bonus zones and FTE.

So if the 2026 TLP ruleset sucks, I could see some people hopping onto Fangbreaker. If 2026 TLP looks promising, then this server is gonna look real bad a year from now.

With Luclin zones, potions, and a bonus, I'd expect powergamers to level AT LEAST that fast.

Luclin start servers are really fast cruises to max level. However the 50's can still be a slog if you fall behind the curve and have to compete over the best zones.

Worst case scenario is a Kunark start, leveling 1-60 with extremely limited choices for the high end. Having to do that on Teek was a trial by fire, and way more of a test than Selo which was a Fangbreaker situation.
