What are you talking about. The 2box rule has only been on 2 servers. It has not been the standard, at all.

Most people who box more than 2 at a time and going hard about it are also cheating in some way. People cheating either know how to circumvent the rules or know someone who knows how (their cheat source). 2box limits never mattered. The og 2 box server, aradune, was littered with boxers and botters.

I think its split 50/50 ... A lot of casual people buy 6 laptops + wireless mouses, but then i know am awful lot of people who use mq or isboxer or multiplicity or ahk or grd
the difference in ability between these groups is vast though, its painstakingly obvious when tools are being used.

I was bored one week a month or 2 ago and leveled 3 toons to 55. Didn't even know there was a 2 box rule on the server. No one gave me a hard time at all.
Hard to say if I'll play those toons again though. Maybe I'll get bored when this server is in pop or god or something.

The current continuation continues to early February. Then it's four months of Planes of Power with Gates of Discord unlocking May 28th. That is also likely the same day as the new TLP launch.

It would be nice if the notion that they had regarding slower unlocks being good for retention died with Fangbreaker. I'd really like them to split the difference between Selo and traditional unlocks to go with something like one month of classic and two months of every single expansion after until live. Stop strangling people with shit like the six months of Luclin purgatory, three months of Kunark (Teek) and the four months of PoP that all these servers get.

Two months per expansion, plus consolidation of non-AA expansions, would solve everything related to unlock schedule.
Have the consolidations be separated by two weeks to give the "main" expansion a little room on its own.
PoP followed by LDON two weeks later
OoW followed by DoN two weeks later
DODH followed by PoR two weeks later
TSS followed by TBS two weeks later
Two month cadence for everything else. Only two issues come to mind: 1) TSS might deserve a bit more time before Solteris obsoletes a lot of the endgame loot. That wouldn't be an issue with the previous three consolidations. 2) The Burning Lands in two months won't be clearable in-era for anyone except Faceless-level guilds due to Mearatas. Given how few servers really make it to 2 being an issue, it's really just 1 in most cases. Either way I think this consistent cadence + delayed consolidation would be better than what we have now across the board.

They want people to recycle once a year and buy bags, pots, mounts ets. Ideally each new expansion has some piece of QoL baked in that gets the recyclers to buy that too. Tradeskill depot, personas, anything that wrings some extra cash out of people. A TLP playerbase that goes deep through expansions and only recycles every two or three years is a playerbase that isn't buying the same fucking 34.95 bag package every single May with another 20/50/100 dollars of Daybreak cash on top for mounts, pots and illusions. Whales don't buy a sack of krono from Daybreak to nostalgically buy loot from Gates of Discord but they will for the early eras.
