You can pick 'em up after using yes.
It does not however, Salvage the loot for you.

It is nice not having to swap out to loot/salvage. Wing of salvage drones + this is generally fine.

Capital ships were one of Eve's biggest mistakes. The only reason they were born into existence in the first place was due to TomB's over inflated ego and his desire to have a ship/weapon that could "pwn" all others (titans). The only capital ship class that I think has any justification for its existence are freighters as they really do help a lot with bulk shipping. Dreads are needed only due to the shitty implementation of POSes (another of Eve's biggest mistakes).
Just limit their amount per fleet/ corp/ alliance (or any combination of them) being able to field at once.
I wish they'd scrap Dust 514 and concentrate more on EVE, but hey... "there're 80 million PS3's out there".

The state of logistics is also a problem. In most fleets, unless you're alphastriking, reps will land and their tank will hold. Drones eliminate the human factor, ensuring perfect alpha every time.
Both of these issues are worse at the capital level, which is why people are still searching for a counter to the gayer-than-9-guys-fucking-10 slowcat fleets.

After the fight, our side had a 200+ man inti gang picking off people who logged back on early. Intis are really great atm and popular, a nice ship for low sp duders to get into and play eve with.
