I still say they should just buy pantheon and rename some NPCs, slap eq3 on it

They're counting on being able to one shot it with a Fable 8 prompt at that point. Zero dev cost, instant IP capitalization.

Especially after the recent Mastery and class updates on test server where it appears Pantheon devs are starting to walk on water. A full team at Daybreak could really polish Pantheon into EverQuest Vanguard Super Gold Edition with almost no effort compared to the slow chugging of Pantheon's 3-4 employees. Would cost nothing to buy them out relative to the profit they would make off the Pantheon assets and base game/classes

All character models and art assets redone is the only investment DBG would need to make, as Pantheon's armor and models aren't up to par for a wide release. Really a small amount of work to ship Pantheon as EQ3.

It's worth noting that Daybreak outsources most of it's in-game art to offshore Asian companies and this keeps costs down.
