Saw this pop up on the reddit yesterday and figured I'd link it here for the people that don't go on reddit. Looks like something in the realm of THJ, they added a crap ton of AA's, and instead of just picking 3 classes and you can get all the cross class AA's. One that I saw that I always liked was swarm pet. So, can get a swarm pet on my bard.

Trying to get this thing going, is it just me or is finding a copy of eq rof2 a bitch these days? Currently downloading on fiber connection and gonna take 8 hours, hopefully it finishes and is not some bullshit bait.

In the video he talks about tossing the dev $$ to support the server and you "might" receive alt currency for it. I feel like I've heard this somewhere before. How long till this gets shut down?

Hows that lawsuit going btw? DPG seen any money yet? or have they just torched hundreds of thousands of dollars, while tarnishing their own brand long term.

I just started only like level 5, so my opinion is much more theoretical than practical. So far so good, having experienced nothing other than killing mobs in the newbie yard of nektulos. Exp is slower than THJ but faster than Quarm. Have gotten a few of the other class AA skillbooks and some of the upgrade currency (fragments) off newbie mobs and those things sell for 1-3k (while costs to turn in the items for AA are like 300pp) so its not hard to get started. i've only sold the upgrade things not the AA skillbooks figure ill need them.

You can port to the guildhall and back from lvl 1 with the free AA, port to your bind point, and /bazaar from anywhere.

my initial thought was since everyone gets every skill then skillcaps is what matters, so roll Monk. But then I remembered how gay 15lb max weight is, so Warrior!

But then I wondered how AAs that cost mana work on classes without mana, and so I ultimately rolled SK.

So far it seems SKs AA books are the most expensive since everyone wants the tap AAs so prolly SK isn't a popular / meta choice for your base class, but at least i'll save money not having to buy AA books i can just learn the AAs with exp.

I looked into it and then decided to do Perky crew instead. The weird stuff on the website about getting alt currencies for recommending friends to the server seemed really shady to me.

dbg cant shut down a server for taking donations and getting alt currency, that is not what brought down THJ... you cannot prove that ever happened. the only mention of $ in the THJ lawsuit was a random comment/hearsay. p99 and takp still take donations.

modifying the client via dll's and providing direct download to their steam repo is what did it... obviously dbg pursued it because of $ but you wont find an eqemu server out there providing their own .dll that modifies the rof2 client... quarm does, but they dont take donations and they are restricted to non custom changes (aka just to fix the bugs that exist in the old eqmac pc hack)

you can read about the rules on eqemu discord. however if you do this the eqemu community will frown on you because it puts them at risk, so thats probably good enough.

why did akkadius nuke everything? (he never once took a donation for anything)... because he was directly responsible for the scaling architecture that THJ needed to support 10k people... that was another thing dbg could present as evidence.


but anyways this server is pretty fun... casters are a little gimp but casters in melee spec will get a /bow from me

Been trying Perky Crew but god damn eqgame.exe crashes all the fucking time. Some cool concepts though.

I'm still trying to figure it out a bit. Overcons in Perky are super hard. I was doing main room unrest with a 3 box and the pathing skeletal monk caught agro from the stairs and was hitting for like 180 a round. Gear probably gets crazy and Im just not used to it, but attacking reds seems really risky if you're a noob.

I had The Fabled Recluse Ghoul or whatever spawn...asshole was level 45 and he ranger gated me after quad 347's or something. Extra named mobs are cool like the Ghoul Berserker and Hag Queen(basement).

Gear gets crazy and everything you farm later is always red con.

What THJ died on was copyright infringement. Same as any emu not built in and served from Russia/China needs to be aware of. Get your license from DBG or run the risk of getting THJed. Making big $$$ and popularity was just what drew the eye of Sauron to them.
