Ascendant doesnt have a damage cap for pets.

My lvl 9 sk pet hits for 150 with a 50 damage 2h, am farming AA at level 15, around 500 now. Pets can also proc every weapon, no level limit on that, so mine procs a 40 damage / tick which is huge at this level.

I have pretty shit gear, but a 75hp hp item is strong shit at level 15 so it works out fine.

If you start on perky let me know and I"ll see if I have some gear to toss your way to get you started. If you start with a pet class I can load it up with legendary mage pet gear that will carry you for a while.

Spell damage is 1 to 10 on pets, who have no class/level restrictions for gear in your pet bag. Search the bazaar by spell power, you can find tons of 5 spell dmg gear grab the cheapest you can. If you are a caster you can use the 10 slot pet bag otherwise 6 slotter.

My 6 slot pet bag has a shitty robe, some ascendant trash rings (normally just vendor trash like gold or silver rings but ascendant tier so +stats), some shm only neck, necro wand, etc. cost maybe 50-500pp each. +25 spell power = +250 dmg per proc.

Using a Steel hilted flint dagger i was lucky enough to loot, normally procs for 600 dmg now deals 850 per hit and pets proc constantly. Offhand is some shitty dot that went from 50 per tick for 5 ticks now 100 per, think it adds 250 total dmg to the dot.

May have to give Ascendant a try. I enjoyed the small amount of time I spent on Perky but at this point it feels kinda pointless to gear grind when I can kill everything easily anyway. That said, fun server till you get to this point. If anyone is looking to give Perky a try I could throw you some starting cash for weapon augs or I might have some in the bank.

So is there any consensus yet on the best starting base classes for Ascendant? I just fired it up and started a beastlord to get going but wasn't sure.

So looking at some videos of Ascendant and it looks like it allows boxing. Can you actually solo or are you required to box/group?

Did end up taking Perky a bit further. Having a lot of fun actually. The bazaar is a lot better when the server doesn't keep going down. Grinding MMM, just hit 40 and huge power spike with mythic armor and weapons.

you are allowed to box on either ascendant or perky up to 3 characters i think but you can solo on both of them. Ascendant is tuned to be hard but doable for a single character.

For ascendant base class just remember some things remain class only, like poisons for example are rogue only, lvl 60 dire charm is enchanter only, etc. So while you get some/most of all classes AAs and skills each class maintains its sort of identity.

Spells for casters and skill caps for melee are what set you apart. ie a cleric can dual wield sure but your DW skill cap is low, your double attack skill cap is super low, you're never really going to be a melee powerhouse. but if you grab a few ranks of slay undead from paladin and dw cleric hammers that proc undead DD and your golden vs undead.

monk/rogue/war/berserker never get mana so some AA like Manaburn are pointless, but other AA like fading memories are changed to not require mana so you can use them.
