I dunno, to me, Secrets and Rogean seem like a great combo to shepherd this forward.

Secrets has already done this "Classless" stuff 3 times and every time they had very little people play on them while they were free.

JFC some of you do love fucking drama.

You all are going to be miserable and black-hearted later in life if you don't learn to let go of that shit.

Biggest difference between legends and THJ and why legends will fail.

Aporia and Co - talk to the community, listen to feedback, implement change.

Rogean and Secrets - We know what's best, deal with it.
Did they really listen to feedback? Dragon Necropolis was the only zone to optimally AA's from. They never did shit about it.

Secrets has a bad habit of starting something and never finishing it and yes that includes the classless server he tried to get going. Aporia and gang took that code and made something great not because of secrets code but because they we're actually good devs.

EQ legends will suck because of Rogean and Secrets.

Until secrets gets fired for having another one of his notorious meltdowns or banning someone calling him a tranny boy.

Actually secrets getting fired would be the best case scenario going forward and will more then likely happen sooner rather then later. I give it a year before he completely loses his job for one reason or another.

Remember when Rogean forum banned anyone mentioning firesofheaven and even censored the links to the board? Yeah? Remember why? Ok.

Cannot be trusted to play a straight hand tbh. Salute for keeping the site and game up despite the immense trolling and criticism. Everyone else has been broken by it in some way or taken theirs down.

Pretending to only care about classic implementations went out the window a long time ago there but on a few things they did hold firm.

Some of us can admit to jackassery or wrong doing, I've yet to see him do the same in any of the scandals.

Imagine what it's like being so retarded you trust someone who isn't even honest about their Sex.

I know this thread is moving fast...

But lulz @ Rogean being all saint-ified

Also, go back and read some of the "at the time" happening of when Secrets left p99 or whatever, their own new servers and emus etc- now Rogain and Secrettown are buddy buddy together in this brand new super awesome Daybreak classic EQ goodness!

Guess now they both can finally (admit) to making stacks of cash off of EQ! Gratz.

But neither are spotless even in their own emu scenes.

I expect my pre-ban for even mentioning this

Now... for what it is from what was given so far? sure looks fun, will try out*

*if not pre-banned for daring to not say these people are gods gift to mmo/emu community

holy shit look at these trailer park dumpster brains... secrets and rogean are developers not product owners, admins, support... they are contracted to deliver a piece of software... secrets is going to have the ability to ban my eq account that i pay money for to DBG, like these people actually believe that? they think secrets and rogean have ultimate say in product direction? absolute morons

He doesn't care dude. He's on a mission against rogean and secrets. He has has to make a post, out his 7 total posts(since he joined yesterday afternoon), that hasn't mentioned either one of them.

If they simply copy THJ and sell the containers to make items legendary and and the server buffs this will be the biggest cash cow in 24 years.

knowing the server is stable people will spend money on this thing like crazy.

Plane of Fire was better for Bard swarm kiting. Could do like 80% of the zone into one swarm, but I usually broke up the front and the back separately. It had less pathing problems than DN but so many mobs that wizard AoE would often crash my game but bard usually wouldn't (for some reason).

Yeah at very high end I think Fire and Vex Thal were best. But functionally DN was just insanely better than most anything for a long time. Also pet cuck was totally ridiculous forever. And most melee builds were trash? I think plenty of balance issues existed there.

Nah there was tons of places to grind AA at and XP was so fast that it was generally best to just AA in the spots that had loot.

And yes they listened, They had hour+ long Q&As almost weekly, did you ever visit the discord? It had an entire area dedicated to suggestions and voting on those suggestions.

Melee builds were the top spec in Time. PAL/WAR/(I think BST) was probably the top trio for pre nerf hard mode Zeb. Pet cuck had crazy survival but it struggled to make the dps requirement for Zeb until the nerfs.

Nothing touched going to 55/56 (forget the top level before it became yellow) and pulling the entire DN zone. Each pull took about 5 minutes and would net 100 AAs depending on your vet bonus. The only thing that would slow you down was waiting for the zone to respawn.

As someone not familiar with these multiclass servers, what are the strongest classes to mix?
It really depends on the AA they give you. THJ gave you all AA for all 3 classes way past the expansions they put out.
But the pet classes were top tier, but this was also because they gave you bags you could fill up with gear for the pet, especially the mage pet which was powerful as all hell. Not sure if this was a feature of regular EQ or not. Then later they added more bags for the other pets too although they were smaller (less item slots)

So it all depends on how this server shakes out with the AA they give you.

FOTM for a bit was I think Cleric/Bezerker/monk?

SHM/ROG/SK (you could backstab from the front and SK was mega survivability, shaman gave you the bear form AA and haste and slows)

Cant remember the Pally set up I had but it was pretty nuts, he could not get killed. I rolled him towards the end.

But yeah, it all depends on the AA they give you per class. You have to sort of plan ahead with those juicy AA.

On THJ, that was what was so awesome... You could find combinations that would surprise you, pop in and out of "the best" meta, and it would evolve with every new expansion release as new items, and spells unlocked. Most of the AA's were available out of the gates, but they would do balance tweaks quite often.

Pet cucks (Multi Pet classes) were always good enough to do most content and were the easiest. Plate Tank + proc's for survivability were always popular. Monks were a popular classes to include in your melee build because they got triple attack & good avoidance. Then you had some interesting ones like Enchanter come out of nowhere because they had Dopplegangers that would create copies of your character and cast an insane amount of DD's or stacking DoTs while they would tank for you.

My most successful character was a Monk, Cleric, Berserker. Monk and Berserker gave me crazy damage, the ability to feign-flop right to where I needed to go to complete content farm quickly. Cleric would give me spot heals, Cure's (very important), the ability to wear Platemail, and this AA called Divine Avatar on a 10 minute timer. It made your character so broken, they had to nerf it a number of times.

With something like 560 combinations, sure there were some that felt weaker than others, but most of the time you would find that any class would add meaningful and real power to your build. The real powerful combinations came in the form of obscure AA's that could be combined or stacked with other AA's to do some really wild stuff. There wasn't much value in classes that did things like Haste, SoW, or other fundamental stuff like that because they had world buffs that provided those buffs for you. So the developers gave relevance to classes like Shaman's by making DoTs instacast. Even one dimensional classes like Wizard were great because they had AA's that would let you get a higher Crit Nuke % than any other class and it applied to Proc's which were a huge thing for survivability and damage.

It might sound silly or overpowered from the outside looking in, but they put so much thought into the balance of things, it all really meshed well together. I am not sure I would trust this type of server in the hands of someone other than the THJ guys. The server really was brilliant, and it showed in the popularity.
