we do have to at least acknowledge that daybreak is granting gAmE jAwN access to their IP, their infrastructure (existing logins, servers/load balancing tech, payment processing & support), and allowing them to use the modern everquest codebase/featureset that eqemu would've never have been able to reproduce. presumably daybreak also handed over some of the information that they obtained from thj to expedite development of certain features and make the servers more profitable sooner as well.

all this to say that daybreak is likely bending secrets and co over in terms of revenue split (80/20 on game & subs maybe?), to the point where game jawn really doesn't have much choice but to ram every possible revenue stream down our throats just so they can make it worth their time. i do assume daybreak will at least keep them away from all access/krono long-term though because that would add paper to existing line items that already have "creative accounting" being applied to them (or so ya'll say).

i went ahead and signed up for the beta, with the expectation that i'll beat it if i get in, and then fuck off until pop is released to maybe come back and set the stage to be at where thj "ended". i wouldn't be surprised if there were a lot of active thj players with the same mindset though, so we'll see if the servers are still up by then.

All this bullshit for a bastardized version of an EQ clone when I'd rather just have Vanguard come back at this point.

The way they've stated the multi classing will work is fucking retarded.

Pick your first 2 classes at level 1, Fine okay.
Pick your third class at level 10, Fine okay.
Your third class will start at level 1.

They're charging a "Base Game price" No official statement on how much it will cost.
They're charging a Subscription fee stated ranging from 10 to 15 dollars
They're adding a micro transaction shop with XP potions and other "Convenience items" So pretty much they'll be adding bags most likely but they stated "They won't sell power" Which what qualifies as power? I see leveling as faster as power. Will they say Mana potions aren't power because they just make you regain mana faster so you can start killing faster again? Are teleport items considered power?

This reeks of greed and a pump and dump. Charge for the base game and a subscription and then bail.

And as other's have stated Secrets doesn't exactly have the best track record when it comes to creating servers. Sure they have some great ideas but implementation of those great idea's is what fucking matters. It's like flying a plane great you can get someplace fast but if you can't land the fucking thing it doesn't matter.

I fucking hate that I will try this because I'm like a fucking fish that see's bait and knows it's bait but takes it anyway. Unless they do something crazy and charge like 40 bucks for the base game then fuck that shit no.

The thought of an official server that I can play solo without dealing with faggot "Boxers" that some how can just control 20 characters flawlessly but aren't using MQ2 is nice. The thought that shit can't be sold for krono's and plat will have meaning is nice.

But I know it's gonna be bad. I'd love to be proven wrong, the beta will really tell if I'm wrong or not but everything just screams Glorified Emulator Server.

Wait, do you get to play three classes at the same time with all of the benefits? I could care whoopiedeedoo less if this is a Triple Personna kind of thing, where one character can be one of three classes.

That line does not sound like a person playing three different classes at the same time, on one character. Why would I have to switch anything out, unless "All" classes are available and I get to change out from the three I had chosen.
