I am assuming this is similar to Lord of the Rings Online's Land Difficulty setting where you can set how difficult the encounters are by visiting a NPC and setting a difficulty buff on your character. My guess is this is initiated when you open an instance of the zone. Just a guess obviously.

Yes, apparently you can open an instance for yourself of any zone and set the difficulty at that time. More difficult = more xp and loot.
Big question is respawns and lockouts.

progressing through ele plains with pet cuck. i enjoyed it and was bummed when it went offline, but i don't really care about a thj clone. would rather keep seeing new stuff while retaining the interesting/fun concepts of THJ like multi-class and solo/small group balancing. i was starting to get bored through pop progression. would rather be stuck in velious farming giants and dragons.

I think it'll be worth checking out as long is the price point is fair. Ballpark $20 up front and 10-12 month I'd do, but if its like 40 and 15 and a tranny as lead dev, probably gonna pass until I see good reviews.
