They've already said the quite part loud.

another perfect example of thinking fun = farming and not just playing the game. Another THJ awesomeness (and many games to be honest) is trading/buying/helping-friends get gear so you can jump ahead quickly. ‘No drop” which EQ created is a fucking stupid idea. Especially in a 20 year old game on what’s meant to be a “fun“ server. What happens in 6 months when the neckbeards are all on latest content and someone gets invited? Do the same pain run as others did or get handed some gear and jump up to useful in 5 days? You all got your answer.

again, neg me or whatever, but watch this fail in financials and player count. Is there a Polymarket yet on it? I’ll put my money where my mouth is

Definitely much needed. And it is glorious. Go forth and slaughter. Got some dragon kills in yesterday. Between dragon loot and heavily progressed befallen loot I am in a good spot on my brdcuck. After I finish up ber/dru/mnk up for teleports I will go back and start farming planes loot. Got 3/7 bag slots filled with 100% WR bags as well. 2 weeks in, and I am getting closer to done. I have figured out that you only want to level 1 class at a time if you want to max out your AA farming. Doing 3 at a time serves no real purpose, and guts 2/3 of your potential AA farming from leveling.

Why is that? Only your "primary" class get AAX from EXP kills?

No, you get the same amount of aaxp per kill. But you are your lowest level class. You get ~55 AAs every time you do 10-50. Which is a hell of a lot faster than trying to farm AAs at 50. AA is shared across all loadouts. So you can get all your class only and then work on general/arch stuff.

AA was much faster at 50 than re-leveling, people just suck dicks at EQ.

But now that they nerfed the piss out of AoE and group exp, shits just ass trash.

Bro the game’s lead dev literally removed the word Gypsy from his Emu server
Bro, the game's lead dev has a nice history of hijacking/claiming other people's projects.

EQL is just bastardized THJ.
Quarm was overtaken from Nick, Ali, and me.
Classless was Secrets and I before Ailia decided to ruin it.
Not to mention Nagafen's lair, Legacy of Norrath, Kildruakaun's Prophecy, etc.

Nothing different here. Ailia is going to trash this game just like he did with the other Emu servers with overly complicated design while not fixing underlying systems that have been gripped on since First wave beta.

Just like how classless 1.0/2.0 was broken to using the lowest level tap/DD and nothing else mattered.

I had a bit of faith. Faith is gone.

If you look at the "dev" team, it is just a bunch of Secrets/Ailias friends.

Robyn is Secrets wife, and project manager.
Ailia is Secrets best friend. (The absolute worst idea to bring him on.)
Embrwo is cool af.
Rogean still hasn't fixed the login server, but I guess he's not that bad?
The other ones are their weird ass chronically online friends from Chainbreaker.

Not a single soul on that team understands what a community wants or needs in terms of classic EQ.

I have found a decent speed run route as well.

10-25 Befallen
25-35 CT
35-50 Lguk

After your first playthrough you will have good toys, or you can just curbstomp Befallen to make yourself some good toys that will carry you through every other playthrough. Stiletto and Baron blade both get up to 20/30 at +10. They will be nerfed eventually, but only planes gear is better for now.

I am a solo player. I wasn't AOEing anything, or grouping. Not against any of that, just not how I like to play.

100% agree as i said before. The idea of "Fun pacing" is from the perspective of a tranny that sits 60+ hours a week at their comp. It will always be kept too slow for the people that play 10 hours a week.

Yeah, they wanna get rid of that trading, selling and helping friends part. Only the buying part is going to be allowed in the form of Motes either in the Cash shop or a Boxing controlled Black Market where only their in group is allowed to RMT.

Would there be any effective difference in the EXP rates if you were leveling 2 classes at a time instead of 1? Is doing 1 at a time more about preserving the number of times you can eventually go from 10 to 50?

You have to pick 3 classes

Yeah I understand that. I'm trying to better understand

"I have figured out that you only want to level 1 class at a time if you want to max out your AA farming. Doing 3 at a time serves no real purpose, and guts 2/3 of your potential AA farming from leveling."

For example, say you leveled a WAR/BRD/CLR up to level 50.

Now it's time to swap out classes. He's saying don't swap all 3 at once, just swap 1. I'm wondering if there be any different in EXP rates between swapping out 2 vs 1. For example, switch to:
* WAR/BRD/DRU (Swap CLR for DRU)
* WAR/WIZ/DRU (Swap BRD for WIZ & CLR for DRU)

Ahh, I see what you mean now.

No, the XP (for leveling purposes) is the same whether its 1 new class or 2. However, for AA points, doing 1 at a time, each time, would yield more AA.

Nearing lvl 50 on my war/rog/shm and loving it. I’m debating on what to unlock as my next primary. Thinking pld or sk as I’d like to try out spellblade and the new sk/pld abilities they just added. Was talking to a guy who said his HT was up almost every pull due to Reave, and the thought of LoH being up like that sounds amazing. Pairing enc for spellblade+aoe mez sounds pretty amazing too. I just picked up a Ghoulbane+4 and Dark Reaver+4 in anticipation.

Stylistically, I’ve always preferred to dual wield so was wondering if Pld(or sk)/Enc/Rogue might work. Could be fun having to rely heavily on cc and hybrid sustain for this next run.

Holy shit Nagafen's lair is a server I haven't heard of in years. Kildruakaun's prophecy sounds familiar is that the one where they made pretty much all classes able to use all spells except at a higher level? Like Ranger had access to Paladin spells but at like double the level? So if it was a 10 pally spell ranger got it at 20?

Regardless from everything you said it sounds like EQL is cooked because the ones in charge are clinically retarded?

Out of curiosity what do you think are the odds that they'd make the Discord mods GM's to moderate the server? Watched some videos and GM's/Secrets will just pop in and fuck around. I doubt it would ever happen to me but if that did it would piss me off. Like if I'm paying a sub for solo eq gtfo of my game.

Calling any variation of these solofest servers "classic EQ" makes no sense to me. EQ's hallmarks were interdependence between players and forcing players to make risk vs reward decisions on what content to take on, including a real risk of permanent corpse loss or simply dying too frequently to make the leveling spot feasible. These "dad" severs are arcade EQ. In an arcade you pop in a quarter and play for five frenzied minutes before moving on to the next machine.

EQ was designed to be played continuously for years, like the MUDs it was based on, which is why it was intentionally slow paced. Real classic EQ had almost no end game to speak of and the leveling journey WAS the game. EQ was unforgiving from the first mob you attacked because leveling wasn't some tutorial formality before people reached the "actual game content" which is some instanced scripted raid dungeon with bosses that make you avoid fire on the ground endlessly. If you don't enjoy the leveling process in EQ and want it to be as short as possible then dare I say you're not an EQ fan.

I'll be playing Legends awhile but I'm under no illusions that it'll hold my interest beyond a month.

Right, and? We’re all 25 years older with way less time available. This is a nostalgia trip and some fun distractions.
