Huh? The term "ninja looting" basically starts/gets popular in online gaming with EverQuest. Are you sure you played EQ? Or is your nostalgia just clouding your memory to the point you can't remember all the horrible shit people did to each other in that game?
Did you read what I said? There were toxic elements, but those toxic elements were not "fuck anyone who has more than I do", they were competition for content and of course stuff like trains and ninja looting are part of that. The whole gaming culture of envy wasnt prominent back then.

If that's the logic you're going to use for training and ninja looting being "competition", then these examples would all be considered "relative status concerns" - even "current gaming culture". Researchers have found that many people are willing to sacrifice their own gains if it means reducing someone else's advantage - this happened ALL the fucking time on servers where the raiding game was highly competitive. That's far closer to envy or spite than ordinary "competition".

You can revisionist history this all you want, but you're either not remembering how things went back then or are just flat out letting nostalgia cloud your judgement. There's a reason so much of EQ is referred to as "soft PvP", because many people did things to others just as a "fuck you" - doubly so because the game was able to be played relatively "anonymous". Which, again, is far closer to envy or spite than competition.

Competition and negative competition where you mutually lose to weaken a rival, and just raw envy fuck anyone with more than me, are not the same thing. The envious existed, but it wasnt "normal" yet. I dont know when I'd say it flipped, maybe 2008-2012 or something? By the 20teens there was a clear attitude shift across gaming to the fuck anyone with more than me ideal. Being toxic just in general ways was certainly there the whole time.

First it would be Inspector Gadget you fucking pleb.
Second... The fuck you talking about? You act like you need to go out and look for these queers on TLP's like... Bro are you high? Play any TLP, and you'll instantly see wave's of botters. Like who are we kidding? I reported and sent in tons of videos yes but I didn't have to go search these faggots out. No they were fucking everywhere who are you trying to fool? Everyone knows this it's not even a fucking mystery, it's not some conspiracy. It's botters. Open up LFG chat? Bots selling PL. Go to Guk? Bots camping everything. Go try to level in Dawnshroud? Bots.

Like fuck off with this strawman bullshit "It's only someplaces" no it's everywhere, you're trying to isolate afk bots camping spawns from people using redguides bullshit bot software to run their other characters. Both are botting just different types.

I get where you're coming from and why I don't think it's time. EQL is a way to get away from the cheaters and just enjoy the world while relaxing and playing the game. Personally if I see something awesome I want to know how they got it so I can try and get one, like epic weapons.
No, I'm well aware that boxing in general is everywhere and was specifically talking about MQ. My claim is that they usually directly effect and harm you and other players at a handful of specific camps at any given current expansion, which I agree is shit ass behavior. With random loot this issue gets nullified a bit.

Personally, if im running through a zone looking for a camp and I see a group is there, I dont examine the group to see if its automated and then decide to get angry if they are because its the same result either way.

A normal person would move on, look for another camp, or pick over to another instance until they find what they are looking for. Others will stop their session, let their blood pressure bubble up while firing up their preferred screen recording software, and then go spam Angelina telling them how unfair norrath is being to them. All the while knowing customer service isn't going to do shit about it, but hey atleast you got the gratification of letting someone know you were a victim of unrecoverable hardships.

Did you play on Fangbreaker? That's the last TLP I played and it wasn't just camps. They infested every zone starting in the newbie zones.

So what does this have to do with my original statement? People want EQ but don't wanna deal with botters... it's not just about not having time.

Definitely going to be botters in eql. And it will directly multiply the amount of dragon loot someone will get, but it also doesn't matter in the least because they won't be competing with you or selling to you. Only direct drops can be traded, and only once. There is no krono here, and you will be swimming in useless plat by the time you get to 50. Baz will be flooded with +4 versions of everything day 1. Prices will fall sharply after the first couple weeks, then normalize until next xpac. Once xmog gets in that will be the long term end game.

I like being able to trade/sell loot in THJ. When I would make a new toon to try things I could mostly deck myself out in godmode or at least slowly do so as I hit the gear level requirement

it made experimenting with crazy combos much more tolerable

Retarded take, if you're engaging with the economy at all you will be buying/selling from them. Motes/Tradeskill stuff are going to be what people spend their plat on, plat wont be useless. Krono not being there benefits RMT crews. RMT will be done with plat instead of Krono as the primary currency. Krono don't devalue based on botters, Plat does devalue with more botters.

I mean, you might be retarded enough to think any of that is going to matter, but if you ever actually play the game you will know how faceroll easy it is to farm everything, including tradeskill mats. In fact, you can just have the game send all TS mats directly to your stash automatically while grinding whatever else you are up to. Motes are fine if you want to just level something up for whatever reason, but when you can farm it all starting at +4 they level up plenty fast just grinding.

Why are you so dishonest?

Faceroll easy to SSF tradeskills in EQ are you sure about that buddy?
What about the Timegated boss loot? You "grinding" that? You're either paying in sub fees or RMT.
