Most of the testers probably would just not play vs starting over on live or continuing to play on test.

No, the people who are going to be playing with friends and guildies who didn't get in to test will start on random servers. That is the norm. The majority of those groups have to start fresh, so the testers start over fresh with them as well. The good news is that it is amazingly fast and easy to start over in this game. Just knowing where the good stuff drops is going to let people get back to 50 and be farming dragons and planes within a week. The long term gameplay loop is getting all your AAs done, getting all your classes and races unlocked, and getting the bestest gear to +10. A solid 2-3 months of gameplay in the current game.

How many people jump back into established chars on advanced servers because they dont wanna lose their previous progress?

You can't compare a TLP to this. It's completely different.
People jump ship on TLPs because they get to Gates of Discord most of the time and then they restart. This will not be like that.

Hows agnarr the pop locked server that never made it to gates doing? Do people who dont wanna do gates and just quit rather than dealing with gates ever go back to agnarr to not lose their progress?

I am open, if final word is “FOH needs you and it’s fun“ I’ll join and play….at least for a bit. But with the current mechanics, design, and general approach, this will be a terrible death and flop. #remindme3months.
im sorry. You can tout the “it’s true EQ” all you want but at some point you MUST decide either a.) im making a strange game for strange dedicated folks. Don’t need profit, I can fun it on my own and I just love this style or b.) I want to attract old, new, and maintain existing plays to a fun world and let them enjoy it.
nothing about this is (b). It’s a faded shadow of a brilliant one-off to try and make money and it will get a few die-hards, a few “lets try its”, and then it will fade faster than the lawsuit against THJ.THJ was growing and would have rocked the EQ world if they let them spread their wings.

I've heard Agnarr has a dedicated base.
But there's also a major difference with this and TLP's.
TLP's you hop on and wow you can restart no friction.
This is gonna force you to unlock your primary classes again through the PoSky bullshit quests and unlock all your races again through the reputation or whatever.
Then you'll have people that went full on nolife to get a +10 CoF or some stupid shit. This is a completely different EQLegends is being built in a way to force you to either spend money or take brutally long to accomplish something that shouldn't have even been designed in the first place.
Honestly the only reason they wouldn't actually wipe the test would be because, if they wiped it the majority of people will jump ship instead of paying and doing it all over again.
That's my personal opinion.

If Agnarr wasn't behind the pay wall, I think it would be far more popular. It would have people coming and going to scratch their itch. I hate that community had a free server with the Mac server and they just took it away from everyone. Its also something the EQ community prefers... they could do some microtransactions and be just fine. Cosmetics and such. They're just idiots that don't understand how to meet their playerbase halfway or make money.
I’m looking forward to starting “for real”. I’ve been testing things/builds out, giving feedback, and plotting my run once release hits. I’m loving EQL. It’s so dang fun. I could never go back to having to box, no solo instances, and no personal loot.

Guild did Vox and Naggy raid instances last night. Zone is empty except for the boss area. Very nice. Took a little learning about how to clear the rooms before engaging on +3-4. +0-2 were just cake. Got my throwing boulder to +10, and it is a nice little throwing weapon. 36/35 with 300 range. Got more motes. More dragon gear. Only things I haven't done at this point are Fear and Sky. My SK is 40, so by next weekend I should have that and PAL to 50 for FOTM ber/sk/pal. All three have ridiculously good weapons waiting for me in Sky.

Sky has 1.5 and higher ratio weapons. But yeah. I am still using a 2hs from Befallen with a .75 at +7. Am curious as to what its final form is. Has STR and something else too. Swapping in level appropriate procs just makes it go even harder. When I level my PAL in befallen I am going to see if I can do +3-4 solo. The main area to Knight has an OK amount of mobs to slice and dice, so if that is a good xp spot and lets me beef up my current weapon no reason not to get 5 or so levels there.
That said, once I start doing sky all that goes by the wayside. Nothing has rec/req levels on them, so leveling the last 8 classes is going to be easy peasy. BER/SK is an amazingly good template to just socket anything else in to zoom zoom zoom.
