Yeah, probably. I suggested a simple +1 per level of upgrade. It would mean Classic weapons didn't eclipse Kunark out of the gate and Kunark weapons could scale up and be better than the vast majority of classic stuff too.
Example being Mithril Blade: 21/40 with haste by default. Their system makes it 42/40 at lvl 10. I think a +1 per level - making it 31/40 - is better and its still super strong for classic, but not over the top.

The problem with setting mudflation to infinity is that you reach levels of mudflation like WoW did where you start to run out of impactful upgrades. Going from 100 dps to 125 dps feels AWESOME. Going from 10,000 dps to 12,500 dps feels disappointing.
This is a THJ style solo power fantasy version of EQ. Set mudflation to infinity!

To be fair, only a couple weapons got up to 2.0 ratio in POP. And they have been past 10-12x for a long time. Maybe even 100x.

If this thing makes it to Kunark people are just going to use Epics, so it won't matter for Kunark.
Your solution won't fix the problem it will also create whole new set of problems because of weapon speeds and 1h v 2h.
The problem is they created a system based around maximizing profits rather than enjoyable gameplay. It's a system designed around always having a carrot on a stick to chase to max subs and MTX. It will rob you of the joyful power spikes you would normally get at the start of the expansion and will completely fuck class balance. Nothing can be done about it without fundamentally changing the system.

According to the mods, there will be no official EQ Legends forums. They are telling people that Discord is the only place to give feedback and submit bugs. I'm not sure how successful that would be.
Another possible issue is that the devs are in auteur mode and already have established a clique of trusted beta testers and friends. Maybe that's good, maybe that's bad. We'll see how it all pans out in 6 months when the honeymoon phase is over.

I'm currently playing my first and probably last Gacha game (Arknights: Endfield) and something common in that industry I find interesting is they send out exhaustive ingame surveys to their playerbase and reward players with valuable currency for completing the survey. These surveys include quantitative measures like "How much did you enjoy this questline from 1-5?" but also include significant areas of freeform text.
Processing that freeform text from the ~million regular players has historically been infeasible, but in 2026 we now have AI tools that could probably do it. I also think player sentiment improves by just polling players (especially with leading questions that they already know the answer to like, "Do you really hate waiting for instance timers????" and announcing upcoming changes to address it.
I wonder if other games shouldn't also follow that example and dole out some platinum (in EQ) for filling out some survey. It'd definitely be a better signal to noise ratio than threads like this one or whatever circlejerk the Discord assuredly is.

Tuning down scaling is way higher risk for them than leaving scaling as too good, no one is going to quit because leveling your items is too rewarding. And honestly what difference will it really make, if the mob was going to have 1M HP with the nerf then reverting the nerf means it needs what? 1.3M HP now? Stuff is going to need a huge amount of HP regardless.
Hammer of the time weaver from Quarm is 26 dmg 24 delay. Aldryn, Blade of the Ocean from Sky is 20 damage 26 delay, about 30% worse, Hopebringer is 40/25, so double, but still double for 4 xpacs isnt that fast. Weapon damage scales way slower than people think, most of the melee increase comes from levels and the hit tables improving.

This thread has more actual opinions than their discord. The discord is basically a no negativity bullshit where any form of criticism is seen as toxic.
I highly doubt polls would work for EQL the devs are set and they honestly don't care about opinions other than their own. There was a luclin models thread that had tons of positive posts for pro luclin models they said "They aren't changing it if you don't like it don't buy it"
Like it's a toggle why not have the option? It's because they're going to force their way not what players want.
With here you see posts saying negative, positive and people just calling people retarded or other shit it's more diverse than the discord lol.
Them wanting to keep it discord only also explains the no steam release because that gives people fourms.

Discord is the new xenforo, just the current flavor du jour for interactions. Not having a persistent record of conversations is definitely a double edged sword.
